At the program, delegates reviewed together the glorious revolutionary historical tradition of the Vietnamese people in general and their homeland Lao Cai in particular.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Lao Cai province shared: On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, declaring to the world and the people of Vietnam the right to independence, freedom, and the right to pursue happiness of the Vietnamese people, of the Vietnamese nation, opening an era of independence and freedom for the nation and bringing our country into a new era.
During those 80 years, many generations fought, sacrificed, built, and devoted themselves to painting a miraculous picture of the changes in their homeland of Hoang Lien Son, Yen Bai , and Lao Cai.
In particular, over the past 34 years, since the separation of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces from the common home of Hoang Lien Son, from being among the six poorest provinces in the country, the Party Committees and people of the two provinces have united, innovated, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and made efforts to rebuild, construct, and build to achieve many achievements in development.
The two provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai have been merged into the new Lao Cai province. The merger is not only an administrative solution, but also a strategic decision of the Central Government, creating an opportunity for Lao Cai to comprehensively restructure its growth model, opening up space and outstanding development potential, along with the ability to strategically connect in the overall development planning of the region and national planning.
The great and comprehensive results that Lao Cai province has achieved in the past period first of all stem from the correct leadership of the Party and the solidarity and efforts of all ethnic people in the province.
Along with that is the crystallization of intelligence, passion, bravery and strong will of generations of fathers and brothers; the silent, noble sacrifice of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; the persistent dedication of generations of excellent cadres and party members of the homeland, who have overcome countless difficulties, remained absolutely loyal to the revolutionary ideal, devoted all their strength, intelligence, sweat, tears and blood to the glorious cause of the Party, the nation, and the heroic homeland of Lao Cai.
Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong emphasized: Our country is entering a new historical period, with a strong aspiration towards an era of prosperous and powerful development.
Promoting the glorious revolutionary tradition, inheriting the achievements, experiences and valuable contributions and suggestions of previous generations, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai province confidently and proudly enter a new stage of development with high determination, great aspirations and revolutionary spirit to attack, be proactive, and be ready to accelerate and break through.
Determined to turn Lao Cai into a growth pole by 2030, a center for economic trade connection between Vietnam and ASEAN countries and the Southwest region (China), developing in the direction of "green, harmony, identity, happiness" associated with the goal of "Preserving the border, preserving the people, preserving the forest, preserving the water, preserving the environment".
