Lao Cai will create the best conditions for students to participate in the 2023 High School Graduation Exam

That was the statement of the representative of the Departmentof Education and Training of Lao Cai province at the press conference to inform about the results of the 2022-2023 school year, the graduation exam in 2023 and enrollment of the Canadian International School - Lao Cai (CIS-LC) in the 2023-2024 school year.

Attending were representatives of the Department of Information and Communications; local and central news agencies and press agencies residing in Lao Cai .

In the 2022-2023 school year, with the theme: "For beloved students; building happy schools; innovation and integration", the team of managers, teachers, staff and students in the entire education sector have made efforts, been creative, dedicated and responsible in completing their tasks.

Accordingly, the whole province has 612 educational establishments, with 229,495 students, 16,695 civil servants and workers. Re-planning the network of schools and classes to develop the educational scale to meet the learning needs of the people.

In the 2022-2023 school year and the first 6 months of 2023, 6 schools will continue to be merged into 3 schools; 19 kindergarten and primary schools will be merged; 72 schools will be eliminated; 2,233 students in grades 3, 4, and 5 at the schools will be transferred to the main school, reaching 100% of the target of Project 06.

Facilities and teaching equipment are prioritized for investment in the direction of standardization, solidification, and modernization. 100% of educational institutions have solid classrooms at the main school; schools and classrooms are clean, beautiful, and gradually modernized from lowland to highland areas.

The rate of students attending school regularly in the highlands has increased; the quality of education has undergone many comprehensive and clear changes in both the lowlands and the highlands. The work of discovering and nurturing excellent and gifted students has been focused on; the rate of students with good conduct, good and excellent academic performance, and students winning prizes in exams has increased, becoming a bright spot in education in the highlands of the country.

Universal education continues to be promoted and maintained firmly in 100% of communes, wards, and towns and 9/9 districts, towns, and cities; many effective educational models are maintained and replicated throughout the province.

At the meeting, representatives of Canada-Lao Cai International School (CIS-LC) provided some enrollment information for the 2023-2024 school year.

Accordingly, from the 2023-2024 school year, the school will implement an additional educational program of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training combined with the Oxford general education program through a bilingual education method, opening up more opportunities for students who wish to study in a high-standard, modern and progressive educational environment.

In addition, students at the school will also receive a well-rounded education by participating in other subjects such as art, physical education, computer science, makerspace and after-school clubs.

Responding to reporters' comments, a representative of the Department of Education and Training said: Lao Cai has 7,877 candidates taking the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. The whole province organizes 24 exam sites located in districts, towns, and cities (an increase of 1 exam site compared to 2022, located at Lao Cai City High School No. 4); there are 340 exam rooms, 24 waiting rooms, and it is expected that 1,650 officers will participate in the exam.

The Steering Committee for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam has assigned members to ensure security, traffic safety, power supply, and ensure that the exam takes place in accordance with instructions, seriously, in accordance with regulations, safely, and creating favorable conditions for students. At the same time, it is preparing a plan for exam staff and students from far away to gather at the correct exam location.

For students affected by Decision 861/QD-TTG of the Prime Minister, the Department strengthens propaganda work so that parents can be proactive, and at the same time find appropriate solutions to meet the needs of students.
