Lao Cai: Establishment of Regional Forest Protection Departments

After restructuring administrative units according to the two-level local government model, Lao Cai province has established regional Forest Protection Departments to ensure that forest management, protection and development are maintained effectively and continuously.

Accordingly, the regional Forest Protection Units are organized as follows: Van Chan - Tram Tau - Nghia Lo Regional Forest Protection Unit (with 4 ranger stations); Yen Binh - Luc Yen Regional Forest Protection Unit (with 2 ranger stations); Van Yen - Tran Yen - Yen Bai Regional Forest Protection Unit (with 3 ranger stations); Mu Cang Chai Regional Forest Protection Unit (with 3 ranger stations).

Van Ban Regional Forest Protection Department has 5 ranger stations, this is also the regional department that manages a large forest area of ​​Lao Cai province.

Bao Thang Regional Forest Protection Department (with 2 ranger stations); Lao Cai - Cam Duong Regional Forest Protection Department (with 1 ranger station); Bao Yen Regional Forest Protection Department (with 3 ranger stations); Van Ban Regional Forest Protection Department (with 5 ranger stations); Sa Pa Regional Forest Protection Department (with 1 station); Bat Xat Regional Forest Protection Department (with 1 ranger station); Muong Khuong Regional Forest Protection Department (with 3 ranger stations); Bac Ha Regional Forest Protection Department (with 4 ranger stations); Sima Cai Regional Forest Protection Department.

The Forest Protection Department of Bat Xat Nature Reserve and the Forest Protection Department of Hoang Lien - Van Ban Nature Reserve remain intact.

The Forest Protection Units have legal status, their own seals, accounts and a full leadership structure as prescribed. In addition, the Conservation Area Management Boards and Regional Protection Forest Management Boards have also been strengthened and are under the Forest Protection Sub-Department and Regional Forest Protection Units to ensure effective forest management, protection and nature conservation.
