"It's a really special night and a special moment. I'm really happy and proud," Erling Haaland shared after scoring against West Ham to help Man City beat their opponents 3-0 in round 34, thereby becoming the player who scored the most goals in the Premier League in a season.

The previous scoring record was held by legendary English duo Andy Cole (1993/94 season) and Alan Shearer (1994/95 season), with 34 goals, but at that time the Premier League had 42 rounds.
But now Erling Haaland has broken the aforementioned record with 35 goals scored in a season of just 38 rounds, and the Norwegian star still has 5 games left to increase his record.

"Of course I knew about that and my teammates always tried to create chances for me to score. West Ham tried to defend very hard throughout the 90 minutes. This is an important win for the whole team.
My first thought was to run towards goal. Jack Grealish had talked about it before the game, he wanted to give me the pass to score a record goal. It was a perfect pass from Jack.
"The goal was a really perfect lift. I didn't think much about it when I lifted the ball over the goalkeeper's head but the opportunity came," Erling Haaland shared after his 35th goal in the Premier League this season.
Haaland's goal against West Ham became even more impressive when he "scored" in all 6 of his most recent consecutive appearances.

Haaland has now scored against 17 different teams this season, with the only two teams he has yet to score against being Brentford and Chelsea, although both are likely to share the same fate when they face Man City in the remaining rounds of the competition.
The 22-year-old has proved himself to be the missing piece in City's jigsaw as they aim for a historic treble. The Norwegian has scored 12 goals in the Champions League, helping City reach the semi-finals to face Real Madrid.
In addition, Haaland also scored 3 goals in the FA Cup, helping Man City reach the final against neighboring rival Man Utd.
Former Man City star Micah Richards praised Erling Haaland on Sky Sports : "Honestly, Erling Haaland was absolutely unbelievable. Incredible scenes from an outstanding individual.
It's only his first season and what he's done is absolutely spectacular. But he's also very humble about it. He seems more than excited about it.
I thought Haaland would score but I didn't think he would score that many goals. I guess his first season he only scored 25 goals. But then he broke the record in just 31 appearances, it's amazing."
