The story is based on the family life of Ly Hai and some of his friends after witnessing disagreements occurring.
Ly Hai explained: "Children sometimes choose a profession out of filial piety, but after graduating, they drop out to pursue their true passion. Or, if they don't succeed, they blame their parents for forcing them to study a profession they don't like. Therefore, there will be disagreements between parents and children. Everyone thinks they are right. Through this story, I hope everyone can reflect on themselves, empathize with and understand their loved ones more, and avoid regrettable situations. Because ultimately, everyone wants a happy family."
Thien A. Pham - Director of 3388 Films - further shared: "Director Ly Hai and producer Minh Ha have told a meaningful family story through 'Flip Face 8: The Embrace of the Sun '. I believe the film will touch the hearts of global audiences. I have always witnessed and listened, especially from young immigrants, to the struggle between pursuing dreams and fulfilling filial duties according to their parents' expectations. Film is a wonderful bridge to connect audiences with different cultures and perspectives. 3388 Films intentionally brings this film to four continents. If watching the film together in theaters can spark beneficial conversations between parents and children, then that is a huge victory for us."
