In early March, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) lost a lawsuit over television rights. Accordingly, they will have to pay a debt of 360 million baht (300 billion VND) to their partner Siamsport.
The reason is that FAT deliberately canceled the agreement between the two parties. This was a mistake by the previous president, Mr. Somyot, but it made the current president, Madam Pang, suffer.
With tireless efforts, she is mobilizing all resources to save her agency. Accordingly, in addition to spending 25 million baht of her own money to help FAT avoid debt collection and account freeze, she also spent another 5 million baht (nearly 4 billion VND) to build a fund to support FAT's operating costs, including subsidies and travel expenses for the board of directors, to reduce the burden during the time FAT is facing financial difficulties.

“In order to prevent the association from having its assets seized, which could cause a lot of damage to the football industry, whether it is the Thai national team, both men’s and women’s, or the professional football leagues, I have contributed 25 million baht from my own pocket. In addition, I also want to add some money to help the agency operate during this period. These are non-refundable aid,” Ms. Pang said.
It can be said that Thai football is very lucky to have a president like Madam Pang. Regardless of work efficiency, in difficult situations, she is becoming the biggest and almost the only support to steer the FAT ship through the thorns.
This year, Thai football will have many important events but the governing body is out of money. Surely without the funding from Madam Pang, they will be in trouble.
