Ceremony to announce An Lao district achieving Advanced New Rural standards and receiving Second Class Labor Medal

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of June 29, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Lao district solemnly held a ceremony to announce the achievement of the Advanced New Rural District standards in 2024 and receive the Second-class Labor Medal.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City; Le Anh Quan, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Le Trung Kien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board; Bui Duc Quang, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; and representatives of leaders of the city's Departments, branches and sectors.

On behalf of the President, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Secretary of Hai Phong City Party Committee, awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to the People and officials of An Lao district.

After more than 2 years of being recognized as meeting new rural standards (2022), An Lao district continues to improve the quality of the criteria. By 2024, the average income will reach 81 million VND/person; the economic structure will shift positively, the agricultural production value will reach 150 million VND/ha/year. 100% of communes (15/15) will meet new rural or advanced new rural standards. The district has been recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards in 2022 and has completed 100% of the criteria for advanced new rural districts according to regulations for the period 2021-2025.

Authorized by the Prime Minister, Comrade Le Anh Quan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, awarded the Certificate of Advanced New Rural Standards to An Lao District.

An Lao district has invested in synchronous infrastructure, with 100% of district and commune roads asphalted and concreted; all schools meeting infrastructure standards; public high schools meeting national standards; 100% of commune cultural and sports centers and village cultural houses meeting people's needs.

The district has formed a concentrated production area, with 1 industrial cluster filled. Effective and prominent cooperatives include Truc Trang Cooperative (linking to grow dragon fruit on 80 hectares, profit of 10 billion VND/year), Dai Viet Cooperative (linking to raise giant freshwater prawn on 4 hectares), Tuat Ruoi Cooperative (raising aquatic products on 2 hectares). The whole district has 18 OCOP products that are maintained and improved in quality.

In 2024, the average income in rural areas will reach 80.25 million VND/person; the poverty rate will decrease to 0.4%; 100% of households will use clean water. With that result, on March 14, 2025, the district was recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting the advanced new rural standards in 2024, being one of the first 4 districts in Hai Phong to meet the standards along with Tien Lang, Kien Thuy and Vinh Bao.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan congratulated and commended the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of An Lao district in the process of building advanced new rural areas.

The Standing Vice Chairman affirmed that this is a clear demonstration of the locality's outstanding efforts, and at the same time demonstrates the correctness of the Party and State's policy - building a new countryside is truly "The Party's will meets the people's will". The Vice Chairman requested the district to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the resolutions of the Central and the city; focus on building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system; promote democracy and the great solidarity of the people; strengthen discipline and administrative discipline and prepare well for the arrangement of the apparatus according to new regulations. The Vice Chairman also emphasized the requirement to maintain and improve the quality of the advanced new rural criteria, towards the goal of building a district that meets the model new rural standards, with a focus on economic development associated with cultural preservation, building a green - clean - beautiful - safe living environment, and comprehensively improving people's lives.

Authorized by the Prime Minister, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan awarded the Certificate of recognition for the District meeting the advanced new rural standards in 2024.

On this occasion, the City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 11 individuals; An Lao District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 9 collectives, 4 households and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas" for the period 2021-2025./.
