Ceremony to announce the upgrading of the Ta Lung Border Gate (Vietnam) - Thuy Khau (China) to an international border gate

On the morning of September 12, at the Ta Lung II bridge customs clearance, Phuc Hoa commune, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) to organize a ceremony to announce the upgrading of the Ta Lung (Vietnam) - Thuy Khau (China) border gate pair to an international border gate, including the Ta Lung II - Thuy Khau bridge customs clearance.

Attending from the province were comrades: Hoang Van Thach, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Huong, Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning, Guangxi, China; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, the Provincial Border Guard, and the Regional Customs Branch XVI.

On the Chinese side, there were Comrade Lam Hieu, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Chongzuo City Party Committee, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, customs and border forces; and leaders of Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.

Ta Lung - Thuy Khau border gate is one of the traditional and long-standing border gates, closely associated with the process of exchange, trade and friendly cooperation between the people on both sides of the border. The two governments agreed to upgrade it to an international border gate, including the Ta Lung II - Thuy Khau Bridge customs clearance.   Not only does it open up new development opportunities for trade, services, investment, and tourism , but it also contributes to strengthening connectivity in transportation and cultural exchange, consolidating the traditional friendship between Cao Bang and Guangxi provinces, and deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China in the Vietnam-China Cultural Exchange Year 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach affirmed that this is an extremely important event, the result of the attention and close direction from the Governments of Vietnam and China; the effective coordination of the Vietnam - China Land Border Joint Committee, the Vietnam - China Border Gate Management Cooperation Committee and the central ministries and branches of the two countries. Especially the close cooperation efforts between the authorities of the two localities of Cao Bang and Guangxi over the past time. Believing that, with the attention and direction of the Governments of the two countries, the active coordination of ministries and branches and especially the efforts of the two provinces/regions of Cao Bang and Guangxi, the pair of international border gates of Ta Lung - Thuy Khau will become a bright spot in the Vietnam - China border cooperation, an important bridge contributing to the socio -economic development of both localities.

In the coming time, Cao Bang province will focus on completing technical infrastructure, improving management and operation capacity at Ta Lung International Border Gate; promoting administrative procedure reform, modernizing import and export activities, creating an open and favorable environment for businesses and people; closely coordinating with the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in border management, maintaining security and order, preventing and combating crimes, building a peaceful, friendly, stable and sustainably developed border.

Focusing on the overall goal of "6 more" in China-Vietnam relations, Chongzuo will continue to implement the principle of "friendship, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness"; enhance trade exchanges, enhance production capacity cooperation and jointly promote regional economic connectivity, contributing to building a more cohesive China-ASEAN community, building a "Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance".
