On the morning of April 27, at the historical and architectural relic site of Le Hoan Temple, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee organized the Le Hoan Temple Festival 2023, commemorating the 1018th anniversary of the death of National Hero Emperor Le Dai Hanh, and received the certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Le Hoan Temple Festival.
Representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the certificate of Le Hoan Temple Festival as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "In the year At Ty (1005), Emperor Le Dai Hanh passed away at the age of 64. To show gratitude for his great contributions to the nation, the people built a temple in his birthplace to worship him regularly.
Along with the construction of the temple, generations of people in the region have formed and developed a unique festival - the Le Hoan Temple Festival. The festival is expressed through traditional rituals, recreating many unique customs associated with the daily life of the people under the reign of Emperor Le Dai Hanh, such as the military camp game of Le Hoan and many other folk games and performances. With its great values and unique features, in 2023, the Le Hoan Temple Festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union - Thanh Hoa province and people offered incense to commemorate the merits of Emperor Le Dai Hanh.
At the ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Le Hoan Temple Festival to Thanh Hoa province, so that the locality can continue to preserve and promote the good cultural values of the festival.
Within the framework of this year's festival, the organizing committee also organized many activities, such as: displaying and introducing local products; performing intangible cultural heritages of Tho Xuan district (Xuan Pha play, Pon Pong dance, Gongs, Bai diem...); competition to perform and introduce the production process of baked banh chung, banh gai, banh la rang bua; competition to make vegetarian dishes for the king...
