This is also an opportunity for Da Nang to affirm its aspiration and determination to rise up, affirming its brand as “Asia’s leading event and festival city”, continuing to attract domestic and international friends.
This year, the audience coming to the festival will enjoy a multi-sensory art "feast" of music, light and AR technology, with unique experiences never before seen. In particular, the dramatic "collision" between the host fireworks team Da Nang and the defending champion Finland, created a brilliant Asian - European cultural reunion in the city's sky.
With the home field advantage and the chance to perform first, host Da Nang made the stands by the Han River burst with emotion and pride. For more than 20 minutes, more than 5,000 fireworks simultaneously sublimated, intertwined with music to create a magnificent symphony of light, sending a spirited greeting to the people and tourists. The performance with 4 chapters, from gentle introduction to explosive sublimation, recounted the journey of Vietnamese culture reaching the world, with the beloved image of the country of flags and flowers, the image of Ngu Hanh Son blending with the waves, as if sending a message of connection and identity of Da Nang.
The Finnish team with the performance “Nordic Lights” brought a deep and intense atmosphere. At the beginning of the performance, the audience was immediately drawn into the emotional flow of the story about a nation living among thousands of islands in the middle of the sea and ice.
From the Han River, the fireworks shoot up from the water, glide gently and then suddenly erupt violently like waves hitting the cliffs... The audience couldn't help but be delighted when listening to the melody of the song "Bong phu hoa" by singer Phuong My Chi. The clusters of fireworks intertwine in a fan shape, swirling like flying storks, bringing a magical moment of intersection between two cultures...
Present in the stands very early, Mr. Lear Rof from Sweden said: “I really like fireworks festivals, so this year I decided to come to Da Nang to experience the DIFF festival. The atmosphere was great, the performances were explosive and the people were friendly and hospitable, I was very satisfied with this trip.”
In addition to the intense competition of light and sound from the teams, the audience at the opening ceremony also enjoyed a unique art space. For the first time at the fireworks festival, large-scale outdoor AR virtual reality technology was introduced via the Sun Paradise Land application. Not only integrating vivid graphic effects right on each ticket, the AR experience also expanded to the entire poetic Han River space.
The outdoor virtual reality system has a "huge" scale with a coverage of up to 600,000m² and nearly 10 million pixels. This is the largest outdoor AR system ever applied in a cultural - tourism event in Vietnam. Just by holding up the phone, the audience can see the Cham tower, admire the graceful Cham dances, the image of Whale swimming in the night sky of Da Nang...
The opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2025 officially kicked off a series of 6 fireworks shows from May 21 to July 12, marking the longest and most spectacular festival season in the 15-year history of this festival.
