Manager Daniel Farke has led Leeds United back to the Premier League in impressive fashion and is still in contention to win the Championship, but the 48-year-old's future at Elland Road is in serious doubt.

According to Mail Sport , Leeds United's board of directors have deep doubts about the German tactician's ability to help the club stay in the top flight.

The news came as a huge surprise to fans, especially as Farke had a brilliant season, turning Leeds into one of the strongest teams in the Championship. With Burnley already assured of promotion, Leeds followed them back to the Premier League in their first ever relegation. The Yorkshire side are even still competing fairly for the title.

However, the concerns of Leeds' owners, backed by US-based group 49ers Enterprises, stem from Farke's poor record in the Premier League in the past when leading Norwich City.

In their first promotion, the "Canaries" were immediately relegated to the bottom of the table. The second time, Farke was also fired early when the team only won 5 points after 11 matches.

The Leeds board are well aware of the risks involved in making such a controversial decision, particularly the backlash from the fans.
