The latest summer vacation schedule for students nationwide in 2026.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training's 2025-2026 school year plan, students nationwide will finish the school year before May 31st, meaning they will begin their summer vacation no later than June 1st, 2026. However, depending on the locality, the vacation may start about a week earlier.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the school year plan also stipulates that the school year must end before May 31, 2026. The assessment of completion of the primary school program and graduation from junior high school must be completed no later than June 30; and the enrollment process for the beginning of each level (grades 1, 6, and 10) must be completed before July 31.

The holiday schedule for students is implemented according to the Labor Code and current guiding documents. If a holiday falls on a weekend, students are given a compensatory day off on the following workday. School principals are free to develop educational plans that suit the actual conditions of their respective institutions.

Similarly, in Hanoi , schools will complete the curriculum and end the school year before May 31, 2026. The process of assessing completion of the primary school program and graduation from lower secondary school will be completed before June 30, 2026; and enrollment for the first grade will be completed before July 31, 2026.

According to the general plan, although the summer vacation is officially set for the beginning of June, depending on the actual conditions, some localities may allow students to take a break about a week earlier.
