Tourism linkage between Thanh Hoa and Nghe An

Tourism development cooperation and collaboration among Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces have yielded increasingly significant results. Notably, many new tourism products, tours, and routes have been introduced, creating attractiveness and highlights for the interconnected journey between these localities.

Travel businesses from Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces will conduct a survey and networking event in Lao Cai province (October 2024).

Among these, the most prominent are tours that combine cultural heritage experiences with beach resorts; heritage tourism combined with ecotourism, community-based tourism, and adventure tourism ; and self-driving caravan tours along the eastern and western branches of the Ho Chi Minh Trail through Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces... Many travel agencies are currently focusing on developing interconnected itineraries such as: Ho Dynasty Citadel (Thanh Hoa) - Kim Lien Historical Site (Nghe An) - Thien Cam Beach Resort (Ha Tinh); Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area (Thanh Hoa) - Conquering Pu Xai Lai Leng Peak (Nghe An) - Hai Thuong Lan Ong Ecotourism Area (Ha Tinh)...

With the philosophy of "if you want to go far, go together," the three localities have jointly participated in numerous tourism promotion conferences; and organized many joint activities such as: participating in joint booths at several international tourism fairs like VITM Hanoi and organizing promotional conferences on the sidelines; developing tourism tours connecting the localities; welcoming domestic and international famtrip delegations to survey the three provinces; exchanging information on state management; supporting tourism promotion and advertising...

Recently (October 8-10), the Thanh Hoa City Tourism and Travel Association, the Nghe An Provincial Travel Association, and the Ha Tinh Provincial Travel Association jointly organized a famtrip program in Lao Cai province. Besides reviewing and evaluating the quality of products and services at the destination, the famtrip also provided an opportunity for local travel businesses to promote new products and connect with tourists from Lao Cai province in particular, and the Northwest provinces in general, to experience the Thanh Hoa - Nghe An - Ha Tinh integrated tour packages.

Speaking at the Lao Cai - Thanh Hoa - Nghe An - Ha Tinh Tourism Promotion Conference, Ta Khac Uyen, Head of the Nghe An Provincial Travel Association, said: “Promoting linkages and cooperation between localities has created many opportunities and increased collaboration for tourism businesses in these areas. Through this, we can jointly develop unique and high-quality tourism products and enhance two-way tourist exchanges. Many of the linked tour programs between Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh promise to offer tourists from the Northwest region new and different experiences, with the best preferential prices for customers and partners.”

It is known that tourism businesses in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces have been focusing on researching and developing new cultural experience tourism products, concentrating on themes and advantages of each locality. Along with this, they are researching and developing policies to attract domestic businesses to participate in exploiting new tours and routes. The aim is to strengthen intra-regional connectivity and expand linkages with other regions nationwide, in order to attract a diverse range of tourists from key markets.

According to tourism experts, in recent years, the collaborative development of tourism between Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces has received increasing attention, especially in the coordination of promoting characteristic tourism products as well as new tourism products through specific activities. With the potential and advantages of natural tourism resources and already exploited tours and routes, Thanh Hoa - Nghe An - Ha Tinh are becoming a bridge connecting tourism regions nationwide. Accordingly, businesses in these localities need to focus on more effectively exploiting the connecting route via the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, creating a unique attraction for the Thanh Hoa - Nghe An - Ha Tinh linkage.

During the collaboration process, despite many difficulties and limitations, businesses have initially joined forces to develop complete tourism products, providing tourists with attractive tourism options and supporting localities in attracting visitors from new tourism markets. This is expected to create synergy, aiming to improve service quality and bring satisfaction to tourists when experiencing collaborative tours.

However, in the new context of tourism development, with many favorable conditions and challenges, to achieve common goals in linking Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh, in addition to promoting the development of joint tourism products, local businesses need to focus on creating distinctive, competitive, and attractive linked product chains for tourists. Along with that, actively organizing tourism promotion and marketing activities, and supporting participating parties in exploiting tourism products through specific policies... aims to create long-term tourism products. In particular, state management agencies and local tourism associations need to coordinate more closely, guiding businesses to build and develop unique tourism products that are in line with market trends and demands.
