Lien Khuong Airport (Lam Dong province) is a 4D airport according to the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and a level 2 military airport, capable of handling large aircraft such as the B747/B787/A350 and equivalent.

In May, the Ministry of Transport approved the Lien Khuong port master plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, designating it as an international, domestic, and dual-use civilian and military airport.

From now until 2030, Lien Khuong is planned to be a 4E-class airport (the highest class in Vietnam currently), with a capacity to serve 5 million passengers and 20,000 tons of cargo per year. By 2050, Lien Khuong aims to increase its capacity to 7 million passengers and 30,000 tons of cargo per year.

During the period 2021-2030, Lien Khuong Airport will maintain its existing runway with dimensions of 3,250 m x 45 m and a 7.5 m wide paved shoulder. By 2050, the existing runway will be extended westward by an additional 350 m to 3,600 m x 45 m, with the paved shoulder dimensions conforming to regulations.

At this stage, the airport will retain its existing T1 passenger terminal with a capacity of 2 million passengers, while planning a new T2 passenger terminal with a capacity of approximately 3 million passengers per year. The vision for 2050 is to expand the T2 passenger terminal to bring the total airport capacity to approximately 7 million passengers per year; reserving land for future development when needed.

Lien Khuong Airport is located in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, 28 km from the center of Da Lat city. The airport has welcomed many international groups on charter flights from South Korea, Thailand, and other countries.
