Some Apple recruitment positions in Vietnam - Screenshot
What is Apple looking for in Vietnam?
Apple, one of the world's largest technology corporations, is making notable moves in Vietnam. Apple's official recruitment page is constantly updating its job openings, showing the interest of the "bitten apple" in a country that plays an important role in the global supply chain like Vietnam.
Most recently, this morning (July 11), Apple posted a job posting for operations and supply chain in Hanoi . Since the beginning of the year, the company has posted dozens of job postings in Vietnam, ranging from communications, engineering to supply chain (one job posting in 2024).
In Hanoi, Apple is looking for design engineers, supply chain specialists...
Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the company is recruiting positions such as public relations manager, sales channel account manager, product marketing, etc.
These moves show that Apple is gradually expanding its operating ecosystem and developing human resources in Vietnam, instead of just stopping at production cooperation through outsourcing partners as before.
In 2015, Apple Vietnam Co., Ltd. was established, headquartered at Deutsches Haus building (HCMC), operating mainly in the field of general wholesale. The legal representatives are Ms. Vo Ngoc Thuy An and Mr. Stefan Bernhard Wahlstrom.
Who is manufacturing for Apple in Vietnam?
According to the latest report from FiinRatings, the FDI electronics industry continues to be Vietnam's economic pillar, accounting for 57% of the country's total export turnover.
The influence is concentrated in a few large enterprises, with the top 48 enterprises contributing up to 70% of the industry's total export value, of which Samsung-related products account for 30% and Apple-related products account for 9%.
FiinRatings estimates that FDI companies contribute up to 21.6% of revenue and 27.7% of gross profit of the entire Vietnamese economy.
In the electronics industry alone, the leading group of FDI enterprises accounts for nearly 40% of revenue and nearly 29% of gross profit of the entire FDI sector. This is a figure that shows the great influence of foreign technology "giants", including Apple.

Some large FDI enterprises participating in Apple's product production chain in Vietnam include Fukang Technology Co., Ltd. (Foxconn), which specializes in producing iPads and MacBooks; Luxshare-ICT Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), which produces charging cables, wireless chargers, and Apple smartwatches.
Shunsin Vietnam Technology Company (Foxconn) announced in November 2024 an investment of 80 million USD for a microchip manufacturing project in Bac Giang. Notably, Luxshare has a large project in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, with a total investment of nearly 151.5 million USD (about 3,550 billion VND), expected to employ a maximum of about 48,000 workers when phase 2 comes into operation (April 2026).
Although FDI electronics supply chains are playing a key role, the domestic input value in the electronics industry is currently less than 1%. Most components and raw materials still have to be imported or come from FDI satellite enterprises.
According to FiinRatings experts, this is an important time for Vietnam to reshape its supply chain, increase the localization rate, develop upstream raw material and component manufacturing plants, to reduce trade risks, increase added value and enhance competitiveness.
Mostly produced in Vietnam, India
On May 1, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that most of the iPhones sold in the US in the April-June quarter will be manufactured in India, while almost all iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods products will originate from Vietnam, according to Nikkei Asia magazine.
In the face of tariff fluctuations, Mr. Tim Cook said Apple will continue to diversify its supply sources because they "realized a while ago that having everything in the same location was too risky."
Now for the entire supply chain, instead of rushing to bring production back to the US, Apple has stepped up investment in Southeast Asia and India.
Apple has been helping suppliers buy machinery and equipment to increase production capacity. It has told suppliers that most of the iPhones, MacBooks and iPads sold in the US need to be made in India and Vietnam, and is rapidly shifting more component production to Thailand.
