If your address is exposed on Google Maps, you could become a target for cybercriminals

Street View lets you revisit your memories, but it also gives thieves a clear view of your home. Hide your home on Google Maps before it's too late.

The trend of showing off houses on Google Maps via Street View is causing many Vietnamese people to accidentally reveal their living arrangements to criminals.

House facades, door locations, cameras, and expensive items can all be exposed with just one click.

Thieves can combine Street View images with personal information on social media to plan extremely precise thefts.

“A home that is not blurred can become a target if valuables are visible in the photo,” warns security expert Michele Bennett of ADT.

Google allows users to request permanent blurring of their homes by clicking on a photo of the home in Street View and selecting “report a problem.”

Just state a reason like security or personal privacy concerns, and you can protect your home from prying eyes online.

Some scams even use photos of homes from Google Maps to send threatening emails like “I’m watching you,” causing victims to panic and pay.

Street View should be used in public places, but in private homes - which are supposed to be safe - blur it before it's too late.
