For Nguyen Ngoc Thai Chau (22 years old, student majoring in Media Technology Management, Hoa Sen University), the most valuable "asset" is the love and life values that his parents have passed on, especially integrity and kindness.
Child in loving arms
Chau's parents are nearly 70 years old this year. Unlike her peers who grew up in large families, Chau has been accustomed to a home with only three members since she was young.
Chau's parents never let their only daughter lack anything. From learning to play an instrument, choosing a school, to living a lifestyle, Chau was always encouraged to choose according to her passion and ability. "Thanks to that, I developed my own personality, but sometimes I was careless because I was taken care of so much" - Chau said.
The photo taken with her mother from her childhood is always something Yen Nhi carries with her.

For Trinh Nguyen Yen Nhi (from Can Tho ), her biggest wish is to have a stable job after graduating and do something meaningful for her mother. Nhi's mother gave birth to Nhi at middle age. Since she was a child, she has been worried that her mother will age faster than her daughter's maturity. When Nhi went to Ho Chi Minh City to study at university, her worries became even more evident. There were only two of them at home, and the geographical distance made her think more. Nhi's constant feeling was not loneliness but worry for her mother. Every time Nhi called, her mother said: "Mom is fine, just study with peace of mind", but Nhi keenly noticed her mother's fatigue hidden in every breath and every word. Nhi understood that her mother, although just an ordinary woman, could do extraordinary things. When she was young, Nhi was sad because she did not have a complete family. But the older she got, the more she realized that completeness does not lie in the number of members in the family, but in her mother's love and sacrifice. "Having a mother means having everything. With her calloused hands, she carries the heavy burden of life but still keeps smiling. With love, she creates miracles - that is me" - Nhi confided.
Solid support
Not long ago, when she heard that her mother was hospitalized, Nhi was silent, her heart heavy. The resilient woman who had been in the hospital for decades, who often said "mother never gets sick", was now in the hospital. Nhi's world seemed to be shaken. She recalled the time with her mother - who was both mother and father, waking up at 2am to do business. Rain or shine, her mother was always busy, so that Nhi could have enough to eat, go to school and have better conditions. Her mother used to get angry and scold, making Nhi both scared and hurt, but at night, hearing her mother cleaning or washing clothes in the yard, she choked up. Entering puberty with many psychological changes, Nhi withdrew from her mother. Gradually, she realized that she had to look at her mother with a mature eye, instead of like a child who only knew how to blame when adults did not follow her wishes. Her mother began to talk and listen to her daughter more, not hastily judging or scolding like before. Mother and daughter seemed to be getting to know each other again, slowly and sincerely. Nhi realized that her mother not only gave birth to her, but also grew up with her every day. Even though she is still clumsy in expressing her love, Nhi always sees her mother as the most wonderful woman. On October 20, Nhi has prepared a message to send to her mother:
"Maybe I've never said it, but in my heart I'm always grateful to you, Mom. Thank you for overcoming so much hardship and still giving me the most peaceful time. I hope you're always healthy and at peace."
Chau also plans to go home, have a small meal with her parents on October 20 and express her gratitude to her parents. Chau remembers that when her parents were still working, the family's economy was favorable, she rarely thought about money or the future. But then when they retired, everything started to change. Chau knew that, but got used to the old lifestyle. Her parents were old but still tried to work extra, so that their children could live comfortably. Chau was still carefree, until the day she received a phone call from her mother saying that the family was in too much trouble. That moment made the Gen Z girl awaken. For the first time, she realized that her parents' love was not obvious, they also had times when they were tired and weak. At the beginning of her third year of university, Chau put her studies on hold and started an internship as a copywriter to learn the value of labor, patience and how to take responsibility for her choices. Most importantly - Chau understood her parents' hearts. Half a year later, she started using the knowledge and skills she learned to work and earn an income. She is currently a copywriter and content creator for an international YouTube channel about charity and travel. On the day she received her first salary, Chau sent a portion to her parents. The message "I received it, thank you" made Chau cry. Her parents have a great influence in her life. They not only taught her how to live but also how to be a person - to keep her word, keep her heart and appreciate compassion. Now, Chau has returned to school, learned how to stand firm in life with kindness and the belief that good things always start with people who know how to love.
