Efforts from the starting line
The Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh has just established 12 teams (including 240 students) to prepare for the national high school excellent student selection exam for the 2025-2026 school year. This is the result of the provincial excellent student selection exam organized by the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh in September 2025, with a total of 470 candidates from 14 high schools and FPT Bac Ninh Primary, Secondary and High Schools participating. As a result, out of a total of 240 students selected for 12 teams, 239 students came from specialized high schools (Bac Ninh, Bac Giang ), and 1 student from Son Dong High School No. 1.
As the school contributing 95/240 of the above excellent students, Mr. Ha Huy Phuong - Principal of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted said that the plan to train and coach students of 12 teams was implemented by the two schools (Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted and Bac Giang High School) in a unified manner, with the view of being a common excellent student team of Bac Ninh province.
“The general training for the 12 teams was implemented from October 2nd, at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted and Bac Giang High School for the Gifted. The teachers participating in the training are the most capable of the two schools...”, Mr. Ha Huy Phuong shared.
To facilitate the travel and activities of 12 teams of excellent students, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted and Bac Giang High School for the Gifted have arranged shuttle buses, meals and accommodation at the collective kitchen and dormitories of the schools. In addition, the principals of the two schools have fully implemented the support policies in the training of excellent students according to the Resolution of the People's Council of the former Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, ensuring the best conditions for students and teachers.
Regarding the national excellent student selection exam, Mr. Nguyen Huu Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province said that in previous school years, the Ministry of Education and Training stipulated that each province and city (excluding Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City) was allowed to select a maximum of 10 candidates/team to participate.
In the 2025-2026 school year, in the context of many provinces and cities merging, to avoid disruption, the Ministry of Education and Training is consulting with the Department of Education and Training, provinces and cities and plans to keep the maximum number of candidates registered for each subject team of each unit as in previous years. Thus, for Bac Ninh, each team can have a maximum of 20 candidates participating.
According to him, this school year, Bac Ninh plans to participate in 12 national excellent student exams (with 240 students) including: Literature, History, Geography, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, Biology, English, Chinese, Japanese and French.
Top 10 provinces and cities in the country
Mr. Ta Viet Hung - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh said that after the merger, Bac Ninh province has an important geographical position in the Hanoi Capital region - the key economic region of the North. The whole Bac Ninh province has 99 commune-level administrative units (including 66 communes, 33 wards) with 1,221 educational establishments (including 425 kindergartens, 317 primary schools, 72 primary and secondary schools, 292 secondary schools, 90 high schools, 3 ethnic boarding schools with high school level, 2 specialized schools, 18 vocational education - continuing education centers and equivalent).
With 46,982 educational managers, teachers and school staff, the quality of staff at all levels continues to be improved to meet the requirements of educational innovation. The rate of qualified training of educational managers and teachers at all levels is 97.7%; the rate of above-standard training is 40.8%.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province emphasized at the 1st Congress of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee (term 2025 - 2030), improving the quality of education and training, striving for spearhead education to be in the top 10 leading provinces and cities nationwide - this is one of the breakthrough tasks to successfully achieve the goal of making Bac Ninh a centrally-run city before 2030.
To carry out the above tasks, the Department of Education and Training directs educational institutions to implement serious and quality teaching plans and programs right from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. At the same time, build a core team of teachers to focus on supporting colleagues to innovate teaching methods, effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program and the work of training excellent students and reviewing for high school graduation exams.
In addition, diversifying professional activities, effectively exploiting teaching aids and equipment, etc., doing a good job of basic and mass quality teaching to create momentum for key educational work.
Bac Ninh focuses on planning the school network, investing in building and renovating classrooms, laboratories, and libraries to international standards at specialized schools and key schools. At the same time, promoting the application of digital transformation to serve the innovation of teaching methods, exploiting specialized learning materials, international textbooks on prestigious academic platforms, building test banks; using AI to personalize the learning path for each student...

At the same time, closely coordinate with departments, branches, local authorities, and parents to ensure conditions for facilities, budget, and educational support policies. In particular, take advantage of Bac Ninh's geographical location near Hanoi, Hai Phong, and neighboring provinces to connect resources.
After the merger, the Bac Ninh Education sector has expanded its development space, the teaching staff and student population have increased, contributing to raising the position of the sector. Bac Ninh promotes the strengths and traditions of Kinh Bac education to become one of the high-quality educational centers, a bright spot of education in the country.
At the conference to commend and reward students with excellent achievements in the 2024-2025 school year exams, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province emphasized that Bac Ninh provides the best conditions for the development of education and training.
