Compensation, support and resettlement payment for the road project connecting to Lao Cai station and station square

On December 5, Lao Cai Ward People's Committee paid compensation, support and resettlement to 5 households and individuals under component project 1: Investing in infrastructure connecting stations on the route and station square under the investment project to build Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line.

According to the approved plan, the total recovered land area is 532 ^m2 of 5 households and individuals; the total approved compensation and support cost is more than 11.4 billion VND.

Households carry out procedures to receive compensation, support and resettlement of the project.

The Ward People's Committee assigned the Ward Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department to coordinate with the Lao Cai - Coc San Area Construction Investment Project Management Board to post the Decision approving the plan and cost estimate for compensation, support and resettlement according to regulations.

The payment work was carried out by Lao Cai Ward People's Committee publicly, transparently, in accordance with regulations, ensuring the legitimate rights of people whose land was recovered.

Households in the affected area agree with the State's policy.

Previously, the Lao Cai - Coc San Regional Project Management Board held a public meeting to announce project information, compensation and site clearance policies, and resettlement locations. The Board's leaders also directly answered people's questions related to compensation and site clearance support policies.

Households in the affected area all agree with the State's policy and hope that relevant agencies will speed up the resettlement process so that people can stabilize their lives.

A representative of the Lao Cai - Coc San Regional Project Management Board said that after the Railway Project Management Board handed over the site clearance markers, the unit will continue to take steps according to regulations to soon pay compensation, support, and resettlement to the remaining households in the next phase.

The early completion of the statistics and land clearance work for the road connecting to Lao Cai station and the square will create favorable conditions for the groundbreaking of Lao Cai station on December 19, meeting the plan as directed by the Prime Minister.
