Tan Thinh Agricultural Cooperative (Chan Thinh Commune) is one of the pioneers in applying technology to agricultural production. From a manual model, the Cooperative has switched to an automated production line with a heat drying system, a sorting machine and a vacuum packaging machine, helping macadamia nuts achieve high uniformity, retain their flavor and prolong the preservation time according to standards.

Applying QR codes to all products helps with transparent management, allowing consumers to trace the origin and production process. Thanks to the application of technology, the cooperative's macadamia output increased from 6 tons in 2022 to 16 tons in 2025, with profits reaching nearly 1 billion VND per year, product quality significantly improved, creating prestige in the market.

Mr. Ngo Duy Hiep - Director of Tan Thinh Agricultural Cooperative said: “We apply technology in production and management stages, aiming for transparency and efficiency. Instead of selling only in traditional ways, the Cooperative expands to digital channels such as Zalo, Facebook, TikTok. Thanks to that, products reach customers faster, the market stretches from North to South”.

Not only putting products on e-commerce platforms, many farmers and production facility owners in the province have taken advantage of social networks to sell directly, build personal brands and regularly livestream to introduce products, creating a dynamic and effective consumption channel.

Ms. Lo Thi Tinh, village 1, Hanh Phuc commune, who regularly livestreams to sell products, said: “My store sells local specialties such as Ban Mu green taro, ginseng potatoes, sweet potatoes, chili bamboo shoots, rice, etc. Livestreaming helps customers see real products, understand the growing area and processing process, so they feel secure. Thanks to online sales, I can bring my hometown specialties to customers across the country, and my revenue is also stable.”

In recent years, Lao Cai province has promoted digital transformation in agriculture through training digital skills for producers, supporting the application of QR codes and guiding the construction of electronic booths on e-commerce platforms. Thanks to that, many key products, such as cinnamon, macadamia, medicinal herbs, Seng Cu rice, and safe vegetables have had the opportunity to access a wider market and be effectively promoted.

Along with training and consumption support, the province focuses on developing agricultural production areas according to VietGAP and organic standards, while applying growing area management software to monitor the cultivation process, helping to improve the quality and transparency of key product information.

The province has over 110 enterprises and cooperatives with over 350 products with transparent information and clear origin on the electronic agricultural product traceability system. Over 260 enterprises, cooperatives, households and individuals participate in the trade promotion support system, with over 500 products uploaded to the system.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien - Deputy Director of Lao Cai Department of Industry and Trade said: Lao Cai identified e-commerce as an important channel for local agricultural products to expand the market. Recently, the Department of Industry and Trade has advised the province to implement many programs to support businesses and cooperatives to access the digital business environment; focusing on skills training, bringing OCOP products to major e-commerce platforms and standardizing information and traceability.

The Department also coordinated with postal units and technology enterprises to organize training on operating online booths, livestream sales, and product promotion, helping many products such as tea, vermicelli, medicinal herbs, and honey achieve positive results.

In the coming time, the province will continue to standardize OCOP product data, expand the "Lao Cai digital booth", support businesses in applying traceability, cashless payments and e-commerce logistics; at the same time, develop digital infrastructure in rural areas. The goal is that most of the province's OCOP products will be available on online platforms, contributing to bringing Lao Cai agricultural products further.

The province focuses on developing agricultural production areas according to VietGAP standards to help improve quality and transparency of product information.

With support from the provincial level and proactive investment and innovation from cooperatives and enterprises, Lao Cai agricultural products are being standardized, their origins are transparent and widely available in the digital environment. Digital transformation is opening up important opportunities for Lao Cai agricultural products to reach out, improve competitiveness and affirm their position in the market.

This is also a sustainable direction to build a transparent, safe and modern agriculture, contributing to increasing people's income and promoting the province's digital economic development.
