In the context of strong digital transformation, especially in the field of UAVs, training high-quality human resources is a premise for the Mekong Delta region to accelerate development. Grasping the need, Can Tho University and CT Group have cooperated to put into operation the UAV & Robot Innovation Lab in agriculture (UAV & Robot AgriTech Innovation Lab).
This is also the first time in the Vietnamese education system that a lab specializing in UAV and agricultural robot research has appeared, marking a strong step forward in bringing high technology into training and research.
The unique feature of UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab is that the system of technology products is researched and developed by Vietnamese people, instead of simulating theories or displaying imported technology models like traditional labs. With modern equipment, students will be able to directly research, practice, and master unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, opening up many new career opportunities in the future.
The school representative said that they have invested a lot of equipment to serve the training work. Particularly in the field related to UAV, for the first time the school owns the UAV & Robot Innovation Lab in agriculture, specializing in research on design, manufacture and control of UAV, providing students with a better internship environment. The lab is also equipped with other technical equipment such as agricultural robots, mobile robots to serve the research and implementation of students' graduation theses.
"UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab is not only a special and meaningful November 20 gift, but also a big step forward for teachers to have more technological space to teach directly, bringing students closer to the most advanced technology today," said Dr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Principal of the University of Science and Technology, Can Tho University.
The operation of UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab is the concretization of the commitment previously signed between CT Group and Can Tho University at the scientific conference program "National Digital Twin - Technological Breakthrough for Smart Agriculture in the Mekong Delta," held in September 2025.
In the next phase, CT UAV (a member of CT Group) will continue to invest in agricultural robots to integrate with UAVs on the same national digital twin platform NDT 15 (National Digital Twin 15) invented by CT Group itself.

UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab was presented by CT Group to Can Tho University on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, also on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Technology (now the University of Science and Technology, Can Tho University) and at the same time as the 7th ASEAN+3 Rectors' Conference, held at Can Tho University, on November 19-20.
This is a high-level academic forum with far-reaching influence in the region, creating an open foreign space, aiming to solve common challenges of the ASEAN region in the context of globalization and strong digital transformation.
On this occasion, more than 120 Rectors and leaders from universities and colleges in the ASEAN region... had the opportunity to visit and pay special attention to the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab located at the Laboratory Complex (RLC) of Can Tho University./.
