Controversy before the Miss Universe 2025 semi-finals, the organizing committee issued an urgent announcement.

(Dan Tri) - On the evening of November 18, the Miss Universe 2025 Organizing Committee suddenly issued an urgent announcement regarding the contest's judging system. Accordingly, a member of the final night's judging panel announced his resignation.

On his personal page with more than 1 million followers, Omar Harfouch attracted attention when he announced that he was leaving his position as a judge, while criticizing the Miss Universe 2025 contest as "a fake play" and claiming that the selection process for the top 30 lacked transparency.

“As a member of the Miss Universe 2025 jury, I was confused and deeply concerned to learn through social media that a provisional jury selected the top 30 finalists without the consent of any of the official judges, including myself,” he wrote.

Omar Harfouch said he raised the issue with the organizers, but shortly after, the Miss Universe Organization published the list of participants in the selection process on Instagram, further complicating the matter.

He said he had spoken directly with the President of the Miss Universe Organization, Mr. Raul Rocha, about the lack of transparency in the scoring process, before deciding to withdraw from the judging position of this year's season.

Mr. Omar's revelations immediately caused a stir in the Miss Universe 2025 community, sparking many controversial debates.

On the evening of November 18, the Miss Universe 2025 Organizing Committee issued a statement explaining that Mr. Omar Harfouch had “misunderstood” because the Beyond the Crown program (Social Project) is an independent activity and does not affect the final results. The Miss Universe Organization affirmed that the official jury still operates according to a unified and transparent process.

Miss Universe 2025 kicked off in Thailand on November 2 and is expected to end on November 21 with the participation of 123 contestants from around the world . Vietnam's representative in this season is transgender beauty Nguyen Huong Giang.

However, right from the start, the contest has faced many internal and organizational scandals, affecting the image of one of the largest and most prestigious beauty pageants in the world.

After more than 2 weeks of activities, today (November 19), the contestants of Miss Universe 2025 will enter the National Costume Performance and semi-finals - important rounds that determine scores and the ability to enter the top 30.

Currently, Huong Giang is performing quite well, participating in the group of contestants with high votes in the sub-competitions such as: Beyond The Crown (Social Project), Most Beautiful People (Inspiring Beauty) and People's Choice (Most Favorite Contestant).

Many international websites also predict that the Vietnamese representative is likely to enter the top 30 this season.
