+ Editor's Advice:
Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte 2025 is suitable for students and users who need a device with good display, strong performance, strong battery life and full support for accessories to work.
However, the product still has some shortcomings such as not being equipped with a fingerprint sensor, many AI features do not support Vietnamese language.
At the same time, the device does not have an integrated SIM slot, which will cause inconvenience for people who frequently travel to areas without WiFi connection.
Design and display
The new Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte retains the familiar minimalist design of the MatePad series. The entire body is made from solid metal with a light weight of 515g and a thickness of 6.1mm.

The compact design with curved edges makes the device comfortable to hold, even when used with one hand. Compared to competitors in the segment, the iPad A16 weighs 477g and is 7mm thick; the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite weighs 524g and is 6.6mm thick; and the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro is 610g and 7.5mm thick.
The keys are solidly finished and have good bounce. However, the device does not have a fingerprint sensor, users can only set a character password or a numeric password.
The four-speaker system is placed evenly on both sides for loud, detailed sound. The sound is warm, the bass is solid and does not distort even when turned up to maximum.
The most notable upgrade compared to the previous generation is the PaperMatte screen, which used to only appear on Huawei's high-end devices. This is also the only tablet model in the under 10 million VND segment equipped with this technology.
The PaperMatte screen is capable of reducing light interference by up to 97% and diffusing direct light, helping to limit glare and reduce eye strain during long-term use. Actual experience shows that the screen handles reflections well under strong lights or outdoors in the sun.
Similar to many devices in the same segment, the screen uses an 11.5-inch LCD panel, 2,456×1,600 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the iPad A16 still uses a 60Hz screen.

The screen on the Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte 2025 is designed in Fullview form with equally thin bezels. The display quality of this screen is quite good, the colors are soft to the eyes, the viewing angle is wide and can be easily used in many different lighting conditions.
In addition, this device also integrates eBook mode, allowing the screen to display only two colors, black and white. This mode is suitable for reading books or reading long texts, helping to limit eye strain and providing an experience similar to when using e-readers.
When adjusting the brightness to a low level, users can still use the device without experiencing glare at night. However, due to the general limitation of LCD panels, the blacks displayed on this screen are not deep enough when compared to OLED screens.
Performance and battery
Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte is equipped with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory. Overall evaluation through Antutu Benchmark performance scoring software, the device achieved nearly 1 million points.

A quick comparison with competitors in the segment with the same performance test, Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro scored 870,000 points, Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite scored nearly 700,000 points while iPad A16 scored more than 1.3 million points.
The device can handle multitasking and heavy work for a long time. Tested with some popular games such as Lien Quan Mobile and PUBG Mobile, the device can operate stably at 60 frames per second with high graphics settings.
The cooling system on the new MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte has been improved, providing 25% more cooling efficiency than the previous generation. This helps the device operate stably even when handling heavy tasks or opening multiple windows at the same time. During nearly 2 hours of continuous gaming, the performance was maintained at a stable level, without any problems of lag or frame freeze.
Huawei MatePad 11.5 is installed on the HarmonyOS operating system platform and equipped with the AppGallery application store. Users can also install the GBox toolkit to use Google services completely normally.
Tested with some popular software such as Gmail, YouTube and Chrome, the device can operate stably, without errors or slow notifications during use. Other familiar applications for most Vietnamese people such as Netflix, Grab or Facebook can also be downloaded and operate stably.

The battery equipped with the device has a capacity of 10,100mAh, supporting 40W fast charging. For entertainment needs, watching videos , playing games and doing some basic office tasks, the device can meet 2-3 days of use.
On the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte, Huawei also equipped the virtual assistant Celia developed by the company. However, the virtual assistant and many AI tools that the company integrated do not yet support the Vietnamese language. Huawei will need to improve these features soon to better support users in the Vietnamese market.
Connectivity and work support
Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte 2025 is one of the few mid-range tablets that comes with a keyboard. This accessory allows users to use the device like a two-in-one hybrid computer, supporting the needs of typing and doing office work.

The keyboard that comes with the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte is a standard leather case, not the magnetic keyboard type like the high-end models. When both the keyboard and the case are attached, the overall size of the device increases significantly. In return, the all-inclusive case helps protect the device better and can be separated into two parts, flexible for many usage situations.
The typing experience is okay, the keys have good bounce but the size is a bit small and the keyboard does not have a touchpad, so users will need time to get used to it.
A big advantage is that the machine is integrated with a licensed WPS Office PC, with full features and an interface similar to the office suite on the computer, helping to process documents more effectively.
Additionally, the device supports Huawei Notes, M-Pencil, and GoPaint app, allowing for natural writing and note-taking, similar to the experience on paper.

The main camera of the device has a resolution of 13MP, while the front camera has a resolution of 8MP. The image quality from this camera system is average, enough to meet the needs of video calling or meetings.
However, it is quite unfortunate that the Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte only has one version that supports WiFi connection. The device is not equipped with a SIM slot, so this can be a limitation for users who often travel to areas without WiFi connection.
Summary
Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte 2025 is sold in the Vietnamese market at a price of 9.5 million VND. The device competes directly with some rivals in the same segment such as iPad A16, Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite and Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro.

The device offers a good experience for its price thanks to its PaperMatte display, stable performance and long battery life. It is suitable for students and users who need a flexible working device.
However, the lack of a fingerprint sensor, lack of full support for Vietnamese AI features, and no SIM slot are still limitations to consider.
