Join hands to build a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's

At the Conference to honor typical and advanced women in the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020-2025, the Women's Union of Hoa Luu commune was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Women's Union of Can Tho City. Over the past 5 years, the Women's Union of the commune has strived to deploy and effectively implement the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's"; supporting members in economic development; building prosperous, progressive, happy families... contributing to improving the quality of new rural criteria in the locality.

These days, the road leading to Thanh An hamlet is bright with the colors of neatly trimmed rows of hibiscus flowers. Ms. Tran Tu Huong, Head of the Women's Union of Thanh An hamlet, shared: "The flower road is the joint effort of female cadres and members. From 2023 to now, the Union has maintained the model "Flower Road - Clean House" in response to the movement launched by the Commune Women's Union. Every weekend, holiday, and Tet, the Union coordinates with organizations and people to organize environmental sanitation, keeping the landscape bright, green, clean, and beautiful." According to Ms. Huong, every month, the Union meets properly, implementing many key contents: building happy families, mobilizing members to compete in labor production. Responding to the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean", the Union has established many practical models, such as: sorting waste at source, composting organic fertilizer according to the compost process... contributing to spreading awareness of environmental protection and building new rural areas in the locality.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Trinh, Vice President of the Women's Union of Hoa Luu Commune, said that every year, the Women's Union of the commune propagates, mobilizes, and launches the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" (no poverty, no malnourished children, no third or more children, no domestic violence, no violations of the law and social evils; clean house, clean kitchen, clean alley) associated with the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", "Women join hands to build new countryside" to 100% of cadres and members. In the period of 2021-2025, the Union has supported 164 households to meet the criteria of "5 no's, 3 clean"; At the same time, maintain and replicate effective models and clubs: "Preventing domestic violence", "Living happily, living healthily and building a happy family", "Growing vegetables to improve family meals", "Growing fruit trees above, growing safe vegetables below", "Flower streets, clean houses", "Garbage collection team", "Classifying and treating garbage at home", "Women implementing 3 clean roads", "Green gates, beautiful alleys", "Model 5 no, 3 clean women's team", "Women using handbags to go to the market"...

In addition to keeping the house and landscape clean and beautiful, the Women's Union of Hoa Luu commune determined that helping members develop the economy , increase income, and improve their lives is a key task. Currently, the Union is maintaining 21 savings and loan groups from the Social Policy Bank, supporting more than 870 members to borrow capital with a total outstanding debt of about 42 billion VND. Saving models such as raising piggy banks, revolving capital contributions, etc. are maintained, helping more than 950 poor women in difficult circumstances to stabilize their lives.

Introduced by the Commune Women's Union and reviewed by the savings and loan group, Ms. Pham Thi Hien, residing in Thanh An hamlet, has repeatedly accessed preferential capital from the Social Policy Bank to develop her family's economy. Ms. Hien shared: "My family is near-poor. I live alone and raise 3 small children. Previously, I did small business at home, with a very unstable income. Thanks to the loan, I imported more goods and sold breakfast, so I have a profit of about 300,000 VND per day." In 2024, Ms. Hien borrowed an additional 50 million VND to renovate her mixed garden, grow Cau Duc pineapples, coconuts and areca nuts.

In the period of 2021-2025, the Commune Women's Union has supported 62 women to start and successfully start businesses; at the same time, connected to build brands and registered to recognize 2 OCOP products of its members. The Union built 6 cooperative models, production development cooperatives; coordinated to open 5 vocational training classes for 150 students; provided vocational training consultation and job introduction for more than 3,000 women working at companies and factories in and outside the city, creating regular jobs for about 1,500 local women. At the same time, employment models such as: small trading, pineapple growing association, water hyacinth weaving cooperatives... continued to be maintained effectively. From these practical activities, the Union supported 32 poor and near-poor households headed by women to escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Trinh, Vice President of the Women's Union of Hoa Luu commune, in the period of 2021-2025, 100% of the commune's cadres, members and women registered to implement the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean". Through support and propaganda activities, women have improved their knowledge, created jobs, stabilized their livelihoods, formed habits of protecting the environment... Thereby, contributing to building a prosperous, happy and civilized family; building a prosperous locality.
