The Department of Industrial Safety and Environmental Engineering has just submitted a report to the Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Hong Dien, on the operation of hydroelectric reservoirs as of July 29th.
According to the report, water flow into hydropower reservoirs in the Northern and North Central regions fluctuated slightly; in the South Central coastal region, it was low and decreased slightly.
While water levels in the Central Highlands and Southeast regions increased slightly compared to yesterday, reservoirs in the river basins and small streams in the northern mountainous areas and the Central Highlands have high water levels.
Previously, reports on July 27th and 28th noted a slight decrease in water levels in hydropower reservoirs in the northern region. However, the water inflow into the reservoirs and dams remained high.
As a result, the large hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region generate electricity according to the operating procedures and power generation mobilization plans of the operating agency.
Similarly, in the Southeast and Central Highlands regions, reservoir water levels are being raised, and power generation is being carried out according to operating procedures and dispatched by the governing body.
However, some lakes still have low water levels, including Thac Ba, Ban Ve, and Trung Son.
However, hydrological forecasts indicate that water inflow into reservoirs in the Northern, Central Highlands, and Southeastern regions will increase over the next 24 hours; while it will decrease in the North Central and South Central coastal regions.
