The 2025 high school graduation exam will be held on June 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2025. June 25 will be used for exam registration procedures; June 26 and 27 will be used for exam supervision; and June 28 will be used as a backup date.

Note when taking the exam

Candidates must be present at the examination room at the time stated on the Examination Notice to complete the procedures. Upon arrival, present your Citizen Identification Card (CCCD) and receive your Examination Card from the examination officer. If any errors are found regarding your name, date of birth, subject or priority area, candidates must immediately notify the examination officer or the person in charge at the examination site for timely handling.

In case of loss of ID card or other necessary documents, candidates must report to the Head of the examination site for instructions on how to handle the situation. If they arrive more than 15 minutes late from the scheduled time, candidates will not be allowed to take the exam.

For each exam session, candidates must be present on time, present their Exam Card, sit in the correct position with their registration number and follow the instructions of the Examination Board. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes late after the scheduled exam time will not be allowed to take the exam.

Items allowed and prohibited in the exam room

Candidates are allowed to bring into the examination room the following items: pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, squares, graphing rulers, drawing tools, handheld calculators without text editing functions and without memory cards; Vietnam Geography Atlas (according to the 2006 General Education Program, no additional notes).

It is prohibited to bring into the examination room carbon paper, correction pens, alcoholic beverages, weapons, explosives, documents and electronic devices capable of receiving, transmitting signals, recording sound, video or storing information for the purpose of cheating.

Notes in the exam room

Before taking the test, candidates must fill in their personal information on the test paper, test paper, scratch paper and Multiple Choice Answer Sheet (TLTN). When receiving the test paper, check the number of pages and print quality; if any errors such as missing pages, blurred pages, torn pages, etc. are found, they must be reported within the first 5 minutes from the start of the test.

During the exam, candidates must maintain order, not discuss or cheat. When they need to give feedback, they must raise their hand to ask for permission and only speak when permitted by the invigilator. They must not mark the exam, do not use pencils (except for the TLTN form), do not use red ink, and may only write in one color of ink as prescribed.

Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination room until the end of the multiple-choice test time. For essay tests, candidates may leave the examination room and examination area after 2/3 of the examination time has elapsed. Candidates must submit their examination papers, test papers, and scratch paper before leaving the examination room.

Any exit must be permitted and supervised by the invigilator. In case a candidate must leave the examination room for health reasons, he/she must have the consent of the Head of the examination site and be supervised by the police and invigilator until the end of the examination.

When the test time is over, candidates must stop immediately. For essay tests, clearly write down the number of test papers submitted and sign the Test Receipt Form. For multiple-choice tests, submit the TLTN form and sign the confirmation. Candidates who cannot complete the test must still submit it according to regulations.

Note to candidates, for multiple-choice tests, only do the test on the pre-printed TLTN form according to the Ministry of Education and Training 's model, use a black pencil, write and fill in the correct registration number and test code, including the leading zeros.

When receiving the combined exam, if the component subjects do not have the same exam code, the candidate must immediately report it within the first 5 minutes. The exam is not allowed to be viewed without the command, and the exam is not allowed to be submitted before the scheduled time. After the time is up, the candidate must submit the exam, sign the confirmation and only leave the exam room when the invigilator has checked all the exam papers and allows them to leave.

Regulations for candidates taking a combination of multiple subjects: for the first or second subject, after finishing the exam, candidates must leave the exam room, move to the waiting room and can only leave the exam area after finishing the last component subject.

For the second or third exam, candidates must be present at the exam area at least 10 minutes before the exam time. If they arrive early, they must go to the waiting room.

For the first and third exams, after the first exam, candidates must remain seated, place their answer sheet face down on the table, and not leave their seats until the next exam.

If an unusual situation occurs, candidates must absolutely follow the instructions of the invigilators, supervisors and those responsible at the examination site to ensure safety and proper implementation of regulations...

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, this year, the total number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam is 1,165,289 candidates, an increase of 93,894 registrations compared to 2024 (1,071,395 candidates). Of which, 1,122,507 grade 12 candidates (accounting for 96.33%) took the exam according to the 2018 general education program. Independent candidates are 42,782 students (accounting for 3.67%).

Candidates taking the graduation exam for the first time under the 2018 Program must take four exams, including Math and Literature. In addition, candidates must choose two subjects they have studied at school from the list: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages.

Candidates taking the exam according to the old program (2006 Program) will take the Literature, Math, Foreign Language exams, and one of two exams: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education).

The 2025 high school graduation exam scores are expected to be announced on July 16.
