In recent interviews, two senior Apple executives, Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering, and Greg Joswiak, vice president of worldwide marketing, both confirmed that the company is having difficulty integrating new features into Siri.

Apple says its goal isn’t to build a chatbot. Instead, it wants to build an AI platform that can help users with everyday tasks.
Apple Intelligence is designed to be deeply integrated into the operating system. This AI platform is capable of assisting in writing emails, summarizing notifications, translating text, creating images, and suggesting intelligent actions based on context.
Craig Federighi said Apple has developed two different architectures for Siri. Version 1 was introduced last year. In addition, the company is developing version 2 with more advanced and intelligent features.
"Version 1 was technically ready. However, it did not reach the quality we expected. Therefore, we focused our resources on developing version 2 with more intelligent features and the ability to handle more complex scenarios," Federighi shared.
Another factor that makes Apple slower to deploy AI than its competitors is its commitments related to privacy and information security.

The Apple Intelligence system is designed with a data processing model directly on the device, combined with a private cloud service (Private Cloud Compute) to ensure absolute security of user information.
“We want to deliver powerful AI experiences without compromising privacy. That takes a lot of time,” said Apple’s senior director.
The delay in launching the new version of Siri shows that Apple is not rushing to follow the AI wave as a mere technology race. However, this also met with mixed opinions as the company is said to be lagging behind its competitors.
