BHG - As a locality with 99.9% Mong ethnic people living, Sung Thai commune (Yen Minh) is actively implementing a program to eliminate temporary houses, helping hundreds of poor families stabilize their housing. Completing the "3 hard" shelters is giving people hope for a better life.

For poor households in mountainous areas, a new house not only helps them to solidify their homes but also increases their confidence in life and the policies of the Party and the State. As one of the poor households supported to build houses under the National Target Program (MTQG) for sustainable poverty reduction, Mr. Giang Chu Mua, Hong Ngai A village shared with us his joy and happiness when being supported to build his dream house. Previously, living in a degraded rammed earth house, living conditions were difficult, the family was very worried, especially during the rainy and stormy season. In 2025, with support from the State of 44 million VND along with savings, the family is building a 77m2 level 4 house. It is expected that in 1 month, the completion of the house will add motivation to "start a career" for the family.

Regularly present to direct and support households in implementing housing programs, the head of Hong Ngai A Giang Mi Po village has an additional task but is very excited, because the lives of the people will certainly change when the temporary houses are removed. Po shared: Due to the large, rugged area, far from the central area, transporting materials is relatively difficult, and it is the beginning of the dry season, so there is a lack of water for the project. Therefore, the village party cell has coordinated with the commune's mass organizations to help and mobilize the people in the village to actively support and "exchange labor" to help households speed up the construction process. Although having to transport each brick, each bag of cement, and sand to the construction site by motorbike, the people are very happy and encourage each other to work. Up to now, the village has completed 5/12 temporary houses with a total supported budget of nearly 610 million VND.

Implementing the motto "No one is left behind", the temporary housing elimination program has been actively implemented by Sung Thai commune with the goal of ensuring social security in the area. Comrade Nguyen Huu Tuyen, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, said: The temporary housing elimination program is not simply about building houses but also an important step to help poor and near-poor households stabilize their lives and improve their quality of life. The Party Committee and the Commune government have clearly assigned tasks to departments and organized the implementation of the program smoothly and closely. Commune officials and civil servants have promoted their responsibilities and are in charge of reviewing the needs of each household to ensure the right subjects according to regulations. At the same time, they regularly monitor and manage the disbursement process and support households in completing procedures for conversion and issuance of Land Use Rights Certificates.

With the spirit of those who have little help little, those who have much help much, Sung Thai commune also actively mobilizes social resources, working days, and donates essential household items to households. With the proactive direction and close coordination of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, the program has been implemented on schedule, bringing humane and meaningful houses, and the people are excited and highly unanimous. The results of the implementation so far for the program to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses have been 100% completed with 56 houses, with a total support budget of over 3.3 billion VND. Construction of 5 houses has been started under the Housing Implementation Program under Project 1, the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities in 2025. For the housing support project for poor and near-poor households under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, phase 1, construction has started on 34/60 approved households.

Although there are many difficulties ahead, with the efforts of the entire political system, Sung Thai commune continues to be determined to speed up the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary houses, dilapidated houses and other housing support programs. Thereby, spreading the spirit of solidarity, helping each other, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the community.
