Arsenal had a huge advantage to win the whole match when leading their opponent 2-0 after only 28 minutes thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.
However, the Gunners could not protect their achievements.
Mohamed Salah gave hope to The Kop with an easy tap-in to reduce the score to 1-2 before the first half ended.
In the second half, Salah continued to have a great chance to equalize when Holding pulled down Jota in the penalty area, but unfortunately the Egyptian striker could not beat Ramsdale on the 11m mark.
It wasn't until the 87th minute that Liverpool had a chance to celebrate again when Alexander-Arnold got past Zinchenko and made an accurate cross to the far post for Firmino to jump high and head the ball home, bringing a 2-2 draw.
This draw helps Liverpool rekindle a faint hope in the race for a place in the Champions League next season, in the context of being 12 points behind the 4th ranked team Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have let Manchester City close the gap in the Premier League title race. The Gunners are currently on 73 points, six ahead of City but having played a game more.
This situation makes the race promise to be very attractive in the rest of the season when Man City and Arsenal also have a direct confrontation on April 27.
