  • Coast Guard Region 4 Command: Arrested 3 vessels for possessing and transporting vessel tracking devices belonging to other ships.

At the Rach Goc Border Guard Station in Phan Ngoc Hien Commune, the inspection, guidance, and management of fishing vessels through vessel tracking devices are carried out regularly and strictly. Whenever a fishing vessel enters or leaves the harbor, officers and soldiers inspect its operational status, guide fishermen on the proper use of the equipment, and monitor signals to ensure the vessel operates within the permitted sea area.

Through the vessel tracking system, border guards can promptly detect cases of fishing vessels disconnecting, turning off equipment, or showing signs of operating outside designated waters, thereby reminding and handling them according to regulations. This not only contributes to raising fishermen's awareness of law compliance but also supports authorities in managing and protecting aquatic resources.

Mr. Vo Minh Dat, a fisherman from Hung My commune, shared: “Since installing the vessel tracking device, we feel more secure on each fishing trip because we always have the authorities monitoring and supporting us. Border guards regularly inspect and guide fishermen on how to use the device correctly.”
