According to the leader of Vinh Ngoc commune, recently social media has been spreading the story of a stepmother dousing her stepchild with gasoline and setting it on fire, but in reality it was a family conflict. The stepmother was angry and poured gasoline on her stepchildren and set them on fire, but the fire flared up so strong that she herself suffered severe burns.
Initial information, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tr. (40 years old) has 2 children, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong L. (17 years old) and Nguyen Van P. (12 years old) but unfortunately his wife passed away from illness 9 years ago. Mr. Tr. remarried, marrying Ms. VNXTr. (38 years old, living in Vinh Ngoc commune). Mr. Tr.'s two children went to live with their grandparents. In 2022, he welcomed his two children to live with him.
Nguyen Ngoc Phuong is being treated at the hospital.
According to Mr. Tr., on April 22, through the camera, he saw his wife insist on chasing the two L. sisters out of the house and then running to get a gas can and a lighter. Seeing this, he rushed home to stop them. When he got home, he saw his wife run into his two children's study room and started pouring gasoline on their books. Mr. Tr. and his two children ran after them. During the struggle, his wife lit a lighter, causing the fire to spread throughout the room, burning all four people.
Doctor Nguyen Minh Giang, Center for Orthopedics and Burns, Khanh Hoa General Hospital, said that when they were admitted to the hospital, the father and son suffered burns of nearly 30%, and P. suffered 14%.
