According to India Times , an Air India A320 plane veered off the runway while landing at Mumbai airport during heavy rain on the morning of July 21.
"The incident occurred at 9:27 am on July 21 when Air India flight AI-2744 landed after departing from Kochi. The A320 aircraft landed on runway 27 but failed to maintain altitude on the runway during deceleration," the source said.

The plane also suffered damage to its engine casing but was able to taxi to the parking lot. Sources added that three of the plane’s tires blew out as it moved down the runway.
It is understood that the main runway was temporarily closed following the incident.
