According to Bored Panda, Spring Airlines Japan flight JL8696, carrying 191 people, was en route from Shanghai (China) to Tokyo (Japan) on June 30 when it encountered an incident.

The South China Morning Post reported that the pilots contacted air traffic control when the aircraft issued a warning about an anomaly in its cabin pressure regulation system.
The plane suddenly dropped 8,000 meters in 10 minutes, causing oxygen masks in the cabin to deploy and passengers to panic.
"I heard a small bang, and the oxygen masks deployed within seconds. The flight attendant shouted for us to put on our masks, saying there was a problem with the plane," a passenger recounted.
"Suddenly, all the oxygen masks popped out while I was sleeping," another passenger said.

Footage from inside the cabin shows passengers clutching their masks, some silent while others visibly tense. Fear gripped the cabin; one passenger even wrote down a will and personal banking and insurance information.
Fortunately, the pilots landed the plane safely at Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan, at 8:50 PM on June 30th. Passengers had to remain on board for more than an hour after landing.
The Japanese Ministry of Transport confirmed that no one was injured among the 191 passengers and crew.
Spring Airlines Japan subsequently offered 15,000 yen in compensation to each passenger and instructed them to contact the airline to receive the compensation. This angered many people.
