The aviation incident occurred on the afternoon of July 3, at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, the Boeing 777 flight number EVA396 was scheduled to depart at 4:34 p.m. the same day from Tan Son Nhat to Taiwan (China). While moving to the runway of Tan Son Nhat airport to prepare for takeoff, the incident occurred when it hit a lighting pole.
The incident caused part of the plane's wing to be dented and a high-pressure lamp post to collapse.
Immediately after that, Tan Son Nhat International Airport and related units quickly coordinated to handle the situation. Fortunately, all passengers on the plane were safe.
The Southern Airports Authority also recorded and promptly reported the incident to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated.
