Planes and speedboats transport graduation exam papers to the island.

The high school graduation exam papers were transported to Con Dao and Phu Quy islands by plane and speedboat under strict police supervision.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has one examination center at Vo Thi Sau High School in Con Dao district, about 185 km from the mainland. This year, 93 students from this island district are taking the high school graduation exam.

Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, said that the exam papers were transported to Con Dao by air. Similarly, the exam papers were also transported to the mainland for grading. All exam papers and answer sheets were strictly monitored and secured by police officers accompanying them from the mainland to the island.

For the past three years, Binh Thuan province has organized an examination center on Phu Quy island instead of bringing candidates to the mainland. This year, the transportation of exam papers and 32 examination officials from the mainland to the island was completed on the afternoon of June 26th.

"All the exam papers were transported to the island in one go by private speedboat, with police protection as per regulations and an accompanying vessel from the Border Guard," said Phan Doan Thai, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Thuan province.

According to Mr. Thai, upon arrival at the island, the exam papers were handed over to the authorities for strict supervision and security as per regulations. The only examination center on the island was Ngo Quyen High School, with 269 candidates.

Similar to Ba Ria - Vung Tau, after the exam ends, the candidates' papers are transported back to the mainland for grading.

In Ho Chi Minh City , Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said that exam papers are also transported to Can Gio island district by ferry early every morning.

The exam papers were also transported inland on the same afternoon, rather than being left overnight at the testing sites. The transportation was closely supervised by the Internal Political Security Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police to ensure absolute confidentiality and safety.

Currently, the organization of the high school graduation exam is handled by local authorities. Some provinces choose to bring students from islands to the mainland to participate in the exam, while many others rent ships, ferries, or planes to transport exam papers to the islands at a cost of hundreds of millions of dong. In previous years, local authorities explained this as a way to facilitate the students. However, the printing and copying of exam papers cannot be replaced by online or digital methods because, given the small scale, organizing a separate printing and copying point with strict regulations would be more costly in terms of finance and manpower.

The high school graduation exam took place on June 28-29 with over one million candidates. Candidates had to take three independent exams: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language, along with two combined exams: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education for students in the general education program; or History, Geography for students in the continuing education program).
