France Striker Kylian Mbappe will only accept leaving PSG if he doesn't lose too much money compared to his income of 163 million USD including fixed salary and loyalty fee in the remaining year of his contract.
On June 22, PSG Community reported that the Paris club agreed to sell Mbappe to Real for $271 million. Accordingly, the royal team Real agreed to pay $215 million in advance, along with $55 million in additional fees depending on the number of matches Mbappe plays for Real and whether he wins the Ballon d'Or or not.
But on April 23, Spanish newspaper Marca said that the deal "is not as simple as PSG asking for more than 200 million USD to sell Mbappe".
According to this source, the French striker does not want to lose the remaining 163 million USD in the remaining year of his contract with PSG. 65.3 million USD of which is salary, and 98 million USD is loyalty fee, according to the terms signed in May 2022.

Mbappe sees the ideal scenario as continuing to play for PSG in the 2023-2024 season and receiving the full amount. After that, the 24-year-old striker can negotiate with Real from January 2024 and then join the Bernabeu as a free agent in the summer. He is said to demand a signing-on fee of between $109 million and $136 million.
Marca emphasized that Mbappe "will only accept a transfer from PSG this summer if he does not lose a lot of money". However, Real is currently only offering Mbappe a season salary of 32 million USD, which is half of his current income at PSG. The reason is that Real cannot pay a high salary and a large signing bonus if they lose more than 200 million USD in transfer fees to PSG this summer.
As a result, PSG feel "cheated" and want to sell Mbappe this summer. But Marca said the deal is not easy to happen because it requires the consent of all three parties involved, including Mbappe, PSG and Real. The Ligue 1 champions know that Mbappe has the advantage in this negotiation, no matter how many ultimatums they give.
One option PSG are considering is a significant reduction in Real's transfer fee, should Mbappe agree to leave this summer and waive the loyalty fee.
Previously, according to ESPN , president Nasser Al Khelaifi agreed to let Mbappe leave in the summer of 2023 if he received a transfer fee of 150 million euros (over 160 million USD). This figure is close to the 174 million USD that the Football Observatory (CIES) recently announced in the valuation table of the world's top football superstars in 2023.
On June 12, Mbappe sent a letter to the board of directors to inform them that he would only comply with the contract until June 2024 and would not activate the extension clause until June 2025. After that, the 2018 World Cup champion affirmed that he wanted to stay at PSG for the rest of the 2023-2024 season, denied joining Real and emphasized that President Emmanuel Macron could not decide his future.
Mbappe joined PSG on loan from Monaco in the summer of 2017, before being bought outright in the summer of 2018 for $200 million. The French striker immediately became a mainstay of PSG with 212 goals and 98 assists in 260 matches in all competitions, helping the club win five Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, two French League Cups and two French Super Cups.
