MC Vu Manh Cuong: Idolizing Lai Van Sam, feeling sad if his name is pronounced wrong

Regarding the MC misreading the guest names, Vu Manh Cuong said that the mistake could have come from many reasons, such as the organizers providing incorrect information or changes in the order of the guests. MC Mai Vang emphasized the need to be careful in every detail, because even he would feel sad if someone else misread his name. "But that is an unwanted thing, so I hope everyone understands and supports," he said.

In the profession, Vu Manh Cuong believes that passion is an important quality. He explains that only when there is passion can one overcome challenges and prejudices at work. According to Vu Manh Cuong, while singers or artists have their own talents, MCs often face prejudice that this is a job that anyone can do and are scrutinized very closely, from the way they speak fluently and coherently.

“Don’t think that MCs don’t have challenges, on the contrary, there are many challenges. If a singer or artist performs on stage, the audience naturally thinks that they are talented, but when an MC steps onto the stage, people think that anyone can do it and tend to scrutinize the way the MC speaks to make sure it is good, fluent, and doesn’t stumble. I used to think that way too, but when I came to the job of MC, I realized that MCs work too hard and are under a lot of pressure,” said Vu Manh Cuong.

Because the MC is not only the host but also the “face” of the program, the MC must stay calm and handle all situations even though “inside” there is turmoil. Therefore, Vu Manh Cuong emphasized that passion is the driving force that helps the MC overcome the above difficulties.

In addition to his role as MC, Vu Manh Cuong also has a love for the art of acting. He revealed: “My greatest hobby and passion is not hosting but acting. As an actor, I can “escape” and play a role different from myself, while as an MC, I have to be alert when entering a program. After only about two hours of hosting a program, I feel exhausted, but as an actor, I can film continuously without getting tired.”
