Overcoming the pain

On the weekend, we visited the mother and daughter of professional military Captain Nguyen Thi Hang while she was busy preparing dinner. Ms. Hang's two children, the eldest Le Mai Anh (11 years old) looks like an older sister, while the youngest daughter Le Ha Trang (6 years old) is a bit shy and embarrassed when seeing guests at home. Le Ha Trang has a face, eyes and nose identical to her deceased father - Major, martyr pilot Le Xuan Truong (Squadron 1, Regiment 920, Air Force Officer School).

More than 6 years have passed, but every time she recalls the moment she received the news that Major Le Xuan Truong died while on duty, her heart still aches with pain. She said that at that time, baby Ha Trang was only 3 months and 10 days old, and she had just turned 28.

At first, Ms. Hang could not accept the truth. She thought that her husband was on a business trip somewhere and would return. The pain made her want to collapse at times. But looking at her two young children, she thought: "I cannot selfishly live only for myself, but also for the deceased. I have to take good care of my two children and both sets of parents on his behalf." And then, with strong willpower and the care and encouragement of the leaders, commanders, comrades, teammates where he worked, relatives and family, Ms. Hang tried to overcome the pain; stood up strongly after the incident, went to work, raised her children, and took care of both sets of parents on her husband's behalf.

Colonel NGUYEN CONG TRANG - Head of Logistics and Engineering Department, Air Force Officer School: Although the circumstances of professional soldier Captain Nguyen Thi Hang are very difficult, she has been very determined and courageous in life, and has made every effort in her work. For her, completing her tasks well is not only the responsibility of a soldier, but also a way to continue her husband's path, through which her children can look up to her and strive to improve themselves.

At this time, all her love was devoted to her two children. The hardships and difficulties of a young wife without her husband by her side, the late nights when her children were sick with high fevers and fatigue made her want to give up and collapse, but reason and reality forced her to be strong and steadfast, because she had to be the support of her two children.

Live for the husband

Talking about her two children, Captain Nguyen Thi Hang could not hide her emotions and shared: "I always think that since my husband sacrificed for the Fatherland, I must live in his place to take care of the children, so as not to betray the love and trust he left behind." Although she is strong and resilient, Ms. Hang is very afraid of holidays and Tet. She said that on these occasions, looking at the cozy gatherings of neighbors, she feels sad and sorry for her children. It has been more than 6 years since her father sacrificed, her daughter Le Ha Trang, who is in first grade this year, still believes what her mother said that her father was away on a business trip for a very long time... "The time we were together was equal to the time he was away. I regret that the time we spent together was so short. He was a very good husband and father, who loved his wife and children very much. I just wish he was still alive, I would love him more" - Ms. Hang said softly with tears in her eyes.

Without him, the life of the three of them is very difficult and arduous. Fortunately, she always has the encouragement and support of her parents and her husband's family. Besides the help of her parents, Ms. Hang also receives encouragement and sharing from her husband's teammates and especially the attention of leaders and commanders at all levels, of the Air Force Officer School. Colleagues in the unit she works for always ask about and help her like family members. On holidays and Tet, her family is always visited and encouraged by the unit's leaders and commanders. All of these things make her feel deeply that she is not alone, but always has teammates and the collective as a solid support to overcome difficulties. Currently, Ms. Hang and her children still do not have a stable house, and are staying at her grandparents' house. Her wish is for the head, agency, and unit to create conditions for her and her children to have a stable place to live so that they can work with peace of mind and raise their children better.
