An Giang proactively responds to storm Fengshen near the East Sea

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1 p.m. on October 18, the center of storm Fengshen was located in the sea east of the central Philippines, about 480 km southeast of Luzon Island. It is forecasted that on the afternoon of October 20, storm Fengshen will enter the East Sea.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province has just requested departments, branches and localities to proactively respond to storm Fengshen near the East Sea.

Specifically, the Provincial Military Command proactively coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant units to closely monitor forecast and warning bulletins; promptly disseminate and notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively avoid, escape, not move into dangerous areas or return to safe shelters, ensuring safety of people and property.

The Department of Construction directs the work of ensuring safety for transport vessels on rivers and at sea; prepares forces, materials and means to overcome incidents, ensuring smooth traffic on main traffic routes when heavy rain occurs.

The Department of Tourism directs the implementation of work to ensure safety for tourists and tourism activities, especially at sea, on islands and coastal areas.

People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones: Closely monitor forecasts and warnings of storm developments, promptly and fully inform authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent, respond and minimize damage.

Effectively implement the 4-on-the-spot motto, guide the implementation of measures to ensure safety for aquaculture production and farming; gather shock forces to prevent and combat natural disasters, ready to support people when damage occurs.

Localities have stepped up inspections and implemented plans to ensure safety for people and tourists on the islands...
