The two sides agreed to cooperate towards a common goal: By 2030, An Giang province will develop comprehensively, have a dynamic, harmonious and sustainable economic development; be a center for research and development of varieties and production of high-tech agriculture , aquaculture and medicinal herbs; be a center for eco-tourism in the region; be a hub for trade and cooperation with the Kingdom of Cambodia; have a synchronous socio-economic infrastructure system, adaptable to climate change; become a fairly developed province in the Mekong Delta.
The two sides signed a cooperation agreement.
The two sides will carry out cooperation contents such as: Consulting and reviewing policies on supporting the development strategy and proposing solutions for socio-economic management of An Giang province; training, fostering, improving the quality of high-quality human resources and strategic leadership team to serve the socio-economic development requirements of An Giang province; cooperation in research and application of science and technology; cooperation in smart urban development and international cooperation.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung shared that after the merger, the entire Long Xuyen quadrangle will be located within the new An Giang province. An Giang has identified five key dynamic urban areas of the province, including: Phu Quoc, Rach Gia, Ha Tien, Chau Doc and Long Xuyen.

Regarding growth, An Giang province has set a target economic growth rate of 11.53% for the 2025-2030 term and is determined to propose solutions to achieve the target, including coordination with Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
After this signing ceremony, the two sides coordinated to develop a project on economic growth of An Giang province - one of the projects in the first action program of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, as well as according to the Resolution of the Party Congress of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee.

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung hoped that the cooperation between the two sides would create positive changes in the application of science and technology in production and business, especially in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery and aquaculture. He especially emphasized that the application of science and technology plays a very important role, especially in the product processing industry in the province.
The cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, An Giang Provincial People's Committee and enterprises in the province will create significant changes in this field, contributing to promoting the increase in the proportion of industry in the coming time.
