The Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board and relevant units met to collect opinions before conducting a field inspection and zoning to protect the relic.
The survey was attended by representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; military and police forces; People's Committees of Oc Eo and My Thuan communes; Institute for Monument Conservation - the unit in charge of package 3 to prepare nomination documents and management plans.
The units have checked the actual boundaries, determined the coordinates and reviewed the areas within the protected zoning area according to the criteria of the 1972 Convention on the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage. All information is updated immediately on the zoning plan map to be completed after the survey.
During the process of preparing the dossier for the world heritage nomination, the Oc Eo Cultural Relics Management Board proactively coordinated with relevant departments and branches to collect opinions on the plan to delimit the relic protection area. The results received high consensus from the Provincial Police, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Education and Training, Department of Tourism and People's Committees of Oc Eo and My Thuan communes.

Units determine coordinates and review areas within the protected area of the Oc Eo - Ba The Archaeological Site.
The An Giang Provincial Military Command noted that within the zoned area, there are works and areas of special importance for national defense tasks. It is necessary to determine appropriate protection boundaries to ensure harmony between the management and protection of relics and military and national defense tasks.
According to the Department of Construction, after merging the Oc Eo - Ba The and Giong Xoai relic clusters, the proposed zoning scale was adjusted to about 1,484 hectares, an increase of nearly 1,194 hectares compared to 433.2 hectares according to Decision 115/QD-TTg in 2021 of the Prime Minister. This expanded area is located on many types of land according to the planning, so it is necessary to continue to review to ensure compliance with the general planning and current regulations before submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.
At the end of the survey, the units met to agree on the contents and signed confirmation on the map of the relic protection area.
