Mother rides motorbike, holds whip and "chases" son running

According to the Straits Times on September 23, in a video posted by TikTok user Farhin Jeffry four days ago, a mother is seen riding a red motorbike, carrying a whip. Not far away, her teenage son is seen jogging on the sidewalk with a towel in his hand.

The video caption reads: "Be strong boy. Life is as hard as the whip your mother holds."

The video was filmed from inside a car and went viral with over 970,000 views and over 82,000 likes.

The mother in the video received mostly positive comments from TikTok users.

Some comments praised her for not abandoning her son. Others said she was doing the right thing by forcing her son to lose weight.

One user commented in Malay: "Lucky boy. I wish my mom made me run like that when I was little. If she did, I wouldn't be fat now."

Another suggested the boy would thank his mother for motivating him while another said: "It's nice to see the mother supporting him. I wanted to cry watching this video."
