The National Assembly passed a resolution on the dismissal of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from the position of National Assembly Chairman and the removal of his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly .
On the afternoon of May 2, the 7th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly took place at the National Assembly House, Hanoi.
At the session, the National Assembly considered the dismissal of the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, approved the dismissal of the position of member of the National Defense and Security Council, and the termination of the duties of a deputy of the 15th National Assembly for Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong city.
After listening to the presentations and opinions of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the National Assembly discussed, voted by secret ballot and passed a Resolution to relieve Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, approve the dismissal of the position of member of the National Defense and Security Council, and remove him from the duties of a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Also at the 7th extraordinary session, the National Assembly passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Duong Van Thai, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, from the position of 15th National Assembly delegate.
Previously, on April 26, based on current regulations of the Party and State and considering the wishes of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the Party Central Committee agreed to let Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue cease to hold the positions of Politburo member, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 15th term, 2021 - 2026 term.
According to the announcement of the Party Central Committee, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue is a key leader of the Party and State, who has received basic training and matured from the grassroots; and has been assigned to hold many important leadership positions of the Party and State. However, according to the report of the Central Inspection Committee and the competent authorities, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue violated the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, the Regulations on the exemplary responsibility of cadres and Party members, first of all, members of the Politburo, members of the Secretariat, members of the Party Central Committee, and is responsible as a leader according to the Party's regulations and the State's laws. Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue's violations and shortcomings have caused negative public opinion, affecting the prestige of the Party, the State and Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue personally. Fully aware of his responsibility before the Party, the State and the People, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue submitted a request to resign from his assigned positions and retire.
