At the end of May 2025, Mitsubishi officially introduced the upgraded version of the Xpander and Xpander Cross lines in the Indonesian market. Up to now, this small MPV line has been scheduled to launch in Vietnam. Accordingly, Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross 2026 will officially launch in the Vietnamese market in September this year. The selling price of Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross 2026 in Vietnam has not been revealed yet. However, it will not be surprising if the car price increases compared to the old version because it has been upgraded in terms of design and equipment.
Specifically, the Xpander and Xpander Cross 2026 still retain the same overall design as the old version. To create a new feeling, Mitsubishi has added some exterior details to the car such as the radiator grille with a silver horizontal bar connecting the company's logo and the vertical bars below. Besides, there are smoked headlights, front/rear bumpers and 17-inch alloy wheels with a new 10-spoke design. With the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 2026, the car also has a new grille with X-shaped details, creating a sportier and more aggressive feel. The front/rear bumpers are stronger and the new two-tone alloy wheels are also equipped for the Xpander Cross. Similar to the exterior, the interior of the car has also been slightly improved. Here, the car has a pure black interior in all versions. In particular, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 2026 has an additional dark red interior option combined with imitation wood paneling details.
The highlight of the 2026 Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross is the new three-spoke steering wheel taken from its brother Triton, an 8-inch digital dashboard, a touch-screen infotainment screen increased in size to 10 inches while the capacitive touch buttons are moved to the left side. In addition, the second row of seats has been supplemented with a middle headrest and an armrest with two cup holders. However, the most welcome change of this MPV model is the safety equipment. Accordingly, the number of airbags in the car has increased from 2 to 6. Unfortunately, this equipment is only available in the highest version and the car still does not have advanced driving assistance features ADAS. Another new feature of the car is that the electronic balance system is now equipped with the Active Yaw Control function taken from its brother Mitsubishi Xforce. Under the hood of this MPV model is still the familiar MIVEC gasoline engine with code 4A91.
This 1.5L, naturally aspirated, 4-cylinder engine produces a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 141 Nm at 4,000 rpm, with a CVT or 5-speed manual transmission. In the Indonesian market, the regular Mitsubishi Xpander 2026 version has a price ranging from 270.1 - 337.8 million Rupiah (about 426 - 533 million VND). Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 2026 has a price ranging from 338 - 364.2 million Rupiah (about 534 - 575 million VND).
