  • Department of Education and Training implements decision on personnel work

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan requested to build a safe and healthy educational environment, maintaining discipline from the behavior of teachers, students to parents.

At the meeting, the Department of Education and Training reported on the progress of organizational restructuring, personnel arrangement and implementation of key tasks after the merger. Currently, the Department has 6 specialized departments with 67 civil servants and 7 labor contracts. The whole province has 765 units and schools, including 6 colleges, 1 university and 1 branch of Binh Duong University in Ca Mau. The total number of classes is more than 12,180 with over 396,900 children, students and trainees; the team of managers and teachers in the whole province is 24,266 people. The whole province has 628/731 public schools meeting national standards, accounting for 85.90%.

The Department has completed the draft Project on organizing two-session/day teaching and boarding for preschool and primary schools, with 308/317 schools implementing, reaching 97.29%. Currently, there are 43 primary schools organizing boarding teaching . 100% of general schools have applied digital transcripts. In addition, the enrollment work at the beginning of the school year was completed on schedule; the process of digital transformation, digitizing student data and connecting management software was deployed synchronously throughout the province.

Dr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau , informed about some difficulties of the industry after the merger.

The provincial education sector has encountered some difficulties after the merger such as: the organization and arrangement of educational facilities, especially at the commune level, is still slow due to the authority problems between levels; the number of staff needed to be recruited is large (1,978 people); the decentralization of teacher recruitment is still overlapping; vocational training is difficult due to lack of capital; the number and quality of education staff at the commune level are not guaranteed.

In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training will continue to effectively implement the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training. Focus on implementing key projects such as: building new and repairing school toilets by 2027; completing the project of teaching 2 sessions/day and boarding for preschool and secondary schools; universalizing preschool education for children from 3 to 5 years old. At the same time, promote teacher training, complete databases, digitize diplomas, reform administration and apply technology in education management.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan expressed his expectations for the province's education staff, and requested the Department of Education and Training to direct resolutely and overcome difficulties to effectively implement the teaching of 2 sessions/day. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the need to quickly and thoroughly handle difficulties in the process of performing tasks, and at the same time develop a plan for training, fostering digital skills and teaching methods according to capacity for the entire sector. In addition, the education sector needs to promote digital transformation, complete databases, develop digital learning materials, build smart schools and implement Resolution 57. He also noted the need to support teachers facing difficulties and improve teaching conditions in rural areas.
