Many museums in Ho Chi Minh City open for free on Uncle Ho's birthday

(PLVN) - On the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday - May 19 this year, museums in Ho Chi Minh City will open for free, and organize many meaningful activities for people and tourists to visit and enjoy.

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and in response to International Museum Day (May 18), in addition to free admission, museums in Ho Chi Minh City simultaneously launched many activities of display, exhibition, and art exchange connecting tradition and modernity; thereby inspiring, lighting up love for the homeland, expressing deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of the Vietnamese people.

For example, the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch will display a special exhibition on the topic of the South forever remembering the President; a mobile exhibition on the topic of Pride in the city named after him - Ho Chi Minh will be held at the University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology.

Ton Duc Thang Museum organizes the Ba Son - Timeline special theme, opening at Ba Son Corporation on May 18 and Uncle Ton - Journey from 1945 to 1975 in collaboration with An Giang Provincial Museum. In addition, the museum cooperates with universities in the city to organize a short film contest with the theme Ton Duc Thang Museum - New look, encouraging young people to tell stories about Uncle Ton and their experiences at this museum.

The Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, the Fine Arts Museum and private collectors, will organize a special exhibition entitled National Treasures – Heritage Masterpieces in Ho Chi Minh City; and a photo exhibition entitled President Ho Chi Minh – Life and Revolutionary Career from May 19 to June 9.

At the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, people and tourists will be able to admire the theme of the Journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps through stamp and postcard collections along with ongoing exhibitions such as Letters from the Resistance War, Huynh Phuong Dong's Journey and mobile exhibitions on the themes of Hoang Sa, Truong Sa - Vietnam's Sea and Islands, National-level architectural and artistic relics at schools in the area.

The War Remnants Museum organized a discussion on museum display standards, while the Southern Women's Museum introduced the theme Journey 40 - Stories from artifacts.

Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts also offers an artistic space with the exhibition Storytelling after Reunification Day, conducted by the Liberation Art Gallery with activities of historical depth and educational and cultural value.
