Opening the bottom spillway of Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir from 2:00 p.m. on July 14

On July 14, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MARD) issued Official Dispatch No. 4349/CD-BNNMT to the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company regarding the opening of the bottom spillway of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir to ensure the safety of the project and downstream areas during the 2025 flood season.

Accordingly, at 7:00 a.m. the same day, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Lake was at 107.25m; the downstream water level was at 50.48m; the water flow into the lake reached 1,200m³/s, while the total discharge to the downstream was 702m³/s.

Implementing the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River Basin according to Decision No. 740/QD-TTg dated June 17, 2019 and Decision No. 922/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister; based on Resolution No. 102/NQ-CP dated June 29, 2024 of the Government and Document No. 3995/VPCP-NN dated May 8, 2025 of the Government Office , the Minister of Agriculture and Environment requests:

Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company organized to open a spillway gate at the bottom of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir from 2:00 p.m. on July 14, 2025.

Closely monitor the development of rain and floods, construction safety, flow to the lake, upstream and downstream water levels of the reservoir; promptly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control) and relevant agencies as prescribed.
