Ideal tourist destination in summer
At “Chu 9 Lanh’s Rambutan Garden” (Ninh Hoa Quarter, Ninh Son Ward, Tay Ninh City), on the first day of opening, hundreds of visitors came. The clusters of ripe rambutan hanging from the branches made many visitors excited when they came here to experience.
In a corner of the garden, the three-generation family of Ms. Le Thi Le Huong, residing in Long Dai quarter, Long Thanh Bac ward, Hoa Thanh town, is also enjoying the weekend. Ms. Huong said that her family usually organizes a trip together every two weeks when her children are free. Visiting the fruit garden in early summer is also an activity chosen by the family because it is fun, relaxing and they get to eat fresh and delicious fruit.
“When I came to the garden, I saw a lot of people, the atmosphere was very happy. This tourism model is suitable for many ages, so the whole family can go. Coming here is like finding childhood. I want my grandchildren to experience this scene and learn about farming work instead of just staying at home watching TV or on the phone.”
Also wanting to let her children experience and explore nature, Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Kim, residing in Truong Luu Hamlet, Truong Hoa Commune, Hoa Thanh Town, chose to go to the fruit garden for entertainment on the weekends. “I often take my children on picnics, camping or to eco-tourism areas on the weekends. That is also the way I help my children limit their phone use so that they can immerse themselves in nature more.”
Full of satisfaction after a day with a group of friends experiencing the rambutan garden, Vo Binh Chieu, residing in Phuoc Tan 1 Hamlet, Phan Commune, Duong Minh Chau District, said that he likes to travel and explore nature, so he often climbs mountains or goes to eco-tourism spots for entertainment on weekends. Currently, it is the time when fruits are in season, so he chose to go to the garden.
“After a while walking around the garden, I found the atmosphere here very cheerful. What I like most when coming here is being free to pick the fruits, very fresh and delicious” - Binh Chieu excitedly shared.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, a resident of Ben Cau district, excitedly said: “This is the first time I have been to the fruit garden. The atmosphere here is very joyful because I can go into the garden to pick and eat fresh fruit right from the roots.” According to Mr. Thien, this is also an opportunity for him and his family and friends to enjoy the weekend together, both having fun and helping to relieve fatigue after a week of work.
Not only attracting people in the province, the fruit gardens in Tay Ninh city also welcome visitors from other provinces and foreign groups to experience. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu, a tourist from Binh Duong province, said that she had a trip to Ba Den mountain. In addition to going to the mountain, she learned more on social networks and asked her relatives to take her to experience at Chu 9 Lanh's rambutan garden. She said that in Binh Duong province this season, there are also many fruits, but traveling and having an additional sightseeing spot like this is also very interesting.
Garden in the city
Mr. Vo Van Lanh - owner of the rambutan garden of Uncle 9 Lanh said that before liberation, his father started growing rambutan in this area because rice cultivation was ineffective. Later, his generation planted many other types of trees. Currently, in this nearly 1 hectare garden, there are fruits such as Thai rambutan, regular rambutan, green-skinned mulberry, mangosteen; some trees are over 50 years old.
After decades of gardening, harvesting and selling to traders, two years ago, Mr. Lanh's family decided to switch to a garden tourism model when the season comes. "A few years ago, I saw information about garden tourism on the internet and TV and I really liked it. When Huynh Tan Phat Street was expanded, it was very convenient to go through the garden, so we switched to this model and no longer do it the old way," said Mr. Lanh.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieu, Mr. Lanh's wife, added that for the past two years, the garden has been open from the end of April to around the 5th day of the 5th lunar month when the fruit is ripe. It is estimated that more than 1,000 people visit the garden each year.
According to Ms. Lieu, the garden serves tourists with a ticket price of about 40,000 VND/adult, children are free (this ticket price increases/decreases according to the price of fruit each year). Coming to the garden, everyone is free to pick fruits to enjoy. This year, on the opening day, the garden welcomed several hundred people to visit and experience, so Mr. Lanh's family was very happy.
Mr. Lanh said: “This model brings in better income than harvesting fruit and selling it to traders. Although it is a short time, seeing many people coming is also very exciting. In the near future, my family will continue to research and develop it further with the remaining gardens of the family.”
Not only Mr. 9's family's fruit garden has many visitors, in this area, several adjacent fruit gardens have also begun to open their doors to welcome visitors during the summer, turning this area into a unique fruit garden and eco-tourism area, connecting with Ba Den mountain tourist destination right in the heart of Tay Ninh city.
Vo Binh Chieu shared: “I personally like climbing mountains, admiring natural scenery and I think that the province does not have many places to experience. This type of garden tourism, if combined with Ba Den Mountain Tourist Area, is also a good direction to open up more connecting points to attract tourists.”
As a nature lover, Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Kim is quite satisfied with the eco-tourism destinations. She said: “The development of garden tourism or eco-tourism models in the province contributes to meeting the needs of people for more places to have fun and relax on weekends.”
