Through activities such as seminars, booths and bilateral meetings, VFDA not only provides a panoramic view of the current appearance of Vietnamese cinema, but also promotes international cooperation opportunities, opening up sustainable development prospects for the film industry in the next period.

This year, Vietnamese cinema has two films selected for screening: “Quan Ky Nam” by director Leon Le and “Khe uoc ban dau” by director Le Van Kiet - just released nationwide since September 12 - participating in the Midnight Passion category for horror and suspense films.

In addition, the project “Flying Cows” by director Nguyen Pham Thanh Dat and producer Nguyen Huu Thi Tuong Vi - which won the “Best Genre Film Project” award at Project Market 2025 of DANAFF Talents (the third Da Nang Asian Film Festival) along with a prize worth 5,000 USD from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPA) - has officially been included in the list of 30 projects selected to participate in the Asian Project Market of BIFF 2025.

Within the framework of the 30th Busan International Film Festival, at the Asian Film Content and Project Market (ACFM), the Vietnam Association for Cinema Promotion and Development in collaboration with BHD Company Limited opened a space to promote Vietnamese cinema. This is an important highlight, providing a panoramic view of the strong transformation of Vietnamese cinema in the regional and world cinema flow.

Space to introduce to international friends the PAI (Production Attraction Index) - a pioneering tool in measuring the attractiveness of Vietnamese localities to international film crews.

Along with that are images of unique filming locations in Da Nang, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh…, which have become “open studios” for many international film projects. This is also an opportunity to affirm Vietnam’s great potential in developing film tourism .

In particular, the promotional space also provides information about the Da Nang Asian Film Festival with outstanding categories: the competition film program, DANAFF Talents - including Project Incubator, Acting Workshop and Masterclass with famous filmmakers. Thereby, international experts have the opportunity to learn more about the international film event organized by Vietnam, as well as activities to connect, train and nurture young talents.

Not stopping at this year, here, VFDA also revealed the direction to expand the reception of films submitted in two competition categories and the Project Incubator for DANAFF IV, 2026, affirming the long-term vision and commitment to accompany the sustainable development of Vietnamese cinema on the world cinema map.

In parallel, the space also introduces new and highly anticipated Vietnamese film projects: "Ho linh trang trai si - Bi am toc van Dinh" and "Sai Gon Oppa" (co-produced with Korean partners).

Also during this working trip, the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA) had an important meeting with the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) and signed a Letter of Intent with the K-Culture Education Association for Young (KEY).

At the meeting with KOFIC, the parties agreed to promote cooperation: increase joint film production, build a Vietnam-Korea film database, exchange experts and artists, organize film production workshops in the two countries, as well as coordinate training of young human resources through the DANAFF Talents program and Project Incubator. This is a concrete step to extend the success of Vietnam-Korea cooperation projects in recent times, while expanding opportunities for young Vietnamese filmmakers to access the international market.

In particular, VFDA and KEY signed a Letter of Intent on International Cultural Exchange, aiming to promote the development of popular culture and cinema in Vietnam and Korea. The two sides will coordinate in five main areas: film production and promotion, cultural and educational exchange, co-organization of events and forums, research and sharing of industry information, and building a global network.

Within the framework of this cooperation, KEY is also one of the supporting units for the Vietnam Night event at BIFF 2025, marking the beginning of a series of rich exchange activities in the period 2025 - 2026.

The workshop “The Pulse of Vietnamese Cinema - Introducing Promising Projects” was also organized by VFDA and BHD Company Limited within the framework of BIFF 2025, attracting the participation of many international guests and Vietnamese delegates.

Attending the workshop were important figures: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Korea Vu Ho, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan - President of the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA), Ms. Doan Phuong Lan - Consul General of Vietnam in Busan, and Mr. Park Kwang Su - President of the Busan International Film Festival.

The workshop focused on analyzing outstanding figures and development trends of Vietnamese cinema, and the role of the Danang Asian Film Festival in the regional context.
