Modric has a new destination

Luka Modric moved to AC Milan right after the end of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ campaign with Real Madrid.

Modric becomes AC Milan's new player in the summer of 2025.

Italian media unanimously confirmed that Modric had reached an agreement to join AC Milan. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano used the familiar phrase "Here we go" to confirm that the transfer was completed on the afternoon of July 10.

According to The Athletic , Modric signed a one-year contract with a salary of 3.5 million euros per season, plus bonuses that could take his total income to over 4 million euros/year after tax. This figure is much lower than the salary of more than 10 million euros/year that Modric received at the Bernabeu.

On the morning of July 10, Modric played his last match for "Los Blancos" in a 0-4 defeat to PSG in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™. The Croatian midfielder was emotional, even bursting into tears when the match ended.

Modric had an illustrious career, not only at club level with Real Madrid but also with the Croatian national team. He ended his contract after 13 glorious years with Real Madrid, winning most of the prestigious titles, from La Liga, Champions League to the 2018 Ballon d'Or.

Modric has been a Milanista since childhood. Former Technical Director Zvonimir Boban said: "He loved Milan from a young age and has always had that passion. Modric never seriously considered going to San Siro because he wanted to dedicate himself completely to Real."
